At a glance:

Not only does this double buggy look beautiful it has a huge shopping basket to make life on the go with two in tow easier. It comes with Maxi-Cosi car seat adaptors which is handy. That said, a few of our mum testers found it harder to steer in double mode.

What they say:

‘Love. Marriage. Baby Carriage. Life moves fast. However, first-time expectant parents are about to experience new shifts in speed. Grocery runs become a crawl. Dirty diapers are reason to sprint. While second (and third) time parents have more realistic expectations, the VISTA keeps them all moving forward, no matter what life throws their way. The VISTA's intuitive design allows for multiple configurations, making transporting a second and third child a breeze - all while strolling like a single.’

Tested by mum Janie for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Sadly, I would only recommend this as a single pushchair and not a double. It has a very large basket and the ease of use, fold-ability, durability and comfort is incredible, but put it into double mode and it becomes slightly cumbersome, heavy and difficult to manoeuvre. There are quite a few seating combinations that can be achieved by using the adapters (purchased separately) which provide lots of options when using the Vista, however, some combinations that you want to use are impractical. If you want to put both rumble seat (purchased separately) and original seat facing forwards, you find the child in the seat behind easily kicks the back of the rumble seat and there is no space for reclining either seat. Similarly, with a car seat at the top and the rumble seat at the bottom facing out you can’t recline the rumble seat. Instead, you have to place the rumble seat facing inwards so your child’s feet are in the basket and they get a face full of car seat!

How has this product made your life easier?

Converting the travel system from a single to a double is very easy. The adapters clip onto the chassis and it only takes a matter of minutes which is very quick and efficient. The adapters are very sturdy yet lightweight and can be left on the chassis even if you are not using it in double mode. As they are made out of plastic they won't corrode and they match the other adapters (Maxi Cosi) so don't look out of place.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this travel system as a single but wouldn’t use it as a double. It retains its luxurious appearance and build quality, but does not lend itself easily to a tandem system. The colour options are lovely, bassinet is padded and comfortable for a newborn, seat and harness are very easy to use and adjust, and the option to be parent or world facing is brilliant. As a double, the seating combinations aren’t very child friendly. With a newborn and a toddler, we tried many of them but found you either couldn’t see the newborn (bassinet on the bottom and seat facing parent on the top) or toddler became bored because he was facing the butt of a car seat (rumble seat at the bottom facing inwards and car seat at the top). Even without a child in the seat, the whole system becomes very heavy creating a problem when manoeuvring around tight corners or going up kerbs. You need to become a weightlifter if you are going to use this with two toddlers!

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change its desire to be a double; this is a really good, sturdy, elegant single and it’s a popular one at that. You don’t see the Vista in double mode that often and there’s probably a reason for that. The only way this could improve is to make the system lighter so when you navigate uneven pavements and mount kerbs you can do it with ease. Making the wheelbase longer would also provide the ability to recline seats and possibly more seating options, however, this would affect the overall use of the Vista. Uppababy doesn’t need to try too hard to impress as a double as it has already captured the market with the single travel system that works well.

Tested by mum Katie Gresty for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, I would recommend the Uppababy Vista. I loved the ease of switching between pram and pushchair, and thought the pushchair was beautiful to look at and very sturdy. It is super easy to wipe clean and the ventilation in hood very useful. I also loved that all the extra rain covers were included in one set.

How has this product made your life easier?

I found this pram to be very easy to put together initially, the wheels clicked in very nicely and easy to remove for cleaning.  Not only did I love the overall look and quality feel, I thought the zippable rain cover, ventilated hood and strong brakes to be brilliant features. The fact this can be used for a second child, in my opinion, makes it worth the initial spend.

Would you choose this product to win?

It’s a beautiful design and I definitely think it stands out as a more expensive looking pram if that's what appeals to you, but I sadly didn’t think it suited us as a family. I found it very heavy to tip back up kerbs and if the front wheels weren't locked a bit tricky to control if pavements uneven. I also struggled with its width in and around shops and actually couldn't get into one of our local stores.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the ease of tipping as I struggled to get the pushchair up kerbs. Also, I would have liked the basket to be slightly further forward, as I kept kicking it when walking.

Tested by mum Sarah Parkinson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to my fellow mums simply because it is easy to use, transport and ticks all the boxes. I loved the additional features, in particular the easy 'flip out' design and mechanics of the frame makes life easier. The air vent underneath the carry cot allows this to be used for overnight sleeping which is so handy and reinsuring.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Vista UPPAbaby is wonderful! It has so many great features. I particularly like the UV sun cover - this comes super low down with air holes to the side to protect my little one, whilst also allowing air to circulate. The brake is very quick, easy and safe to use and the fold away mechanism is brilliantly quick and easy. Further great features include the magnetic hood cover fold on the carrycot, which allows for an air vent and also to peep on your little one whilst they are asleep.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would choose this product above all others. It ticks all the required boxes and then some more! It is one of the only carry cots deemed safe for overnight sleeping with the added feature of the underneath air vent and is so simple to use with the obvious grey buttons. Also, not to forget the huge underneath basket - you can really do a full shop with this as your trolley.

What changes would you make to this product?

There really is not much I would want to change on this product. Possibly make the space between the two seats or carry cot greater when used as a tandem. For an extra luxury, I would consider a drink holder or a mobile phone pocket and even somewhere to store your keys – this would just be the icing on the cake!

Tested by mum Anna Taylor for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Vista as a single buggy. The materials are high quality and seem durable, the sun shade attached to the hood is particularly useful and I like the look and feel of the whole product. I would recommend it to another mum as a single buggy or if they need to get from A to B on a short journey and fit through narrow doors.

How has this product made your life easier?

This product is designed to make life easy if you are a parent of two young children of different ages, yet I feel that the Vista doesn't quite meet expectations. The multiple seating combinations is initially impressive as it can accommodate a baby as well as a small toddler. However, the seat and bassinet are on the small side. That said, the large, accessible shopping basket makes life easy when in the shops and provides ample storage for two change bags.

Would you choose this product to win?

Although the Vista looks classy and initially seems like a good solution for transporting two children of different ages, I would not select it above other double buggies on the market. When I tried it with the baby in one seat facing me (my 4-month-old was disappointingly too large for bassinet) and with my 2-year-old facing forwards on the front rumble seat, it was extremely difficult to handle, almost dangerous. It was cumbersome to steer around corners and particularly heavy to step on to kerbs. This is dangerous on busy roads. My 2-year-old was too tall for the seat and it did not look comfortable for a long journey. I prefer my Phil & Teds sport buggy; it is so much easier to handle and much lighter, with less fiddly adapters and is much easier to store.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would make this product lighter and easier to steer so that it was easier to mount kerbs safely. I think in its current state that it would be far too heavy and dangerous for a mum to use in the first weeks after giving birth. I would ensure that all seating combinations allowed enough space for both children to fit comfortably. I would make the seats large enough to accommodate a child up to three-years-old.

Tested by mum Anna Percival-Harris for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I wouldn't actually recommend this product in its double capacity, as I think it is much better as just a single pram. That said, it does have some superb features; the footbrake is fantastic, the sun canopies which extend from the hoods have great coverage and putting it together was much easier than other prams we have assembled. The size of the basket is fantastic and the handle adjustment is very easy and can be changed with just one hand.

How has this product made your life easier?

Being much thinner than a side by side double pram, it was much easier to navigate through shop doors. However, I found it very hard to get up over kerbs as it is so long, and with my twin two-year-olds on board, it is very front heavy. I'm not sure that it makes my life as a twin mum easier. If I only had one toddler and a newborn, then it may be different.

Would you choose this product to win?

No, I wouldn't choose this product. My two-year-old twins were very cramped and it felt top heavy. The twin at the back could easily push their feet into the seat in front, making it pretty uncomfortable for the child in that seat. When set up for one of the twins and my newborn, there was not an option that gave the toddler a decent aspect – looking at the back of the carry cot was very boring for her!

What changes would you make to this product?

Other than leaving it as a single pram, I would suggest that more room be left between the seats when set up for two toddlers. I would also suggest that the cover of the carry cot be removable for hot weather, and I would make the cover on the seat handles less easy to remove – within seconds of sitting in it, my toddler had unzipped it!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This travel system made me weep with happiness! Everything about it is so EASY! We managed to assemble it in the street (our hallway is too small for a pram) in about 5 minutes with no manual. I managed to fold it open with one hand with the baby in the other arm, with absolutely no swear words involved whatsoever (shouting and swearing is a regular occurrence with my current travel system!). It folds away nicely and can fit comfortably in a smaller car boot.

How did this product make your life easier?

The storage space in the base is very generous.... I could fit two big bags and two sausage dogs in it with room to spare. It's so easy to open up and fold away and extremely easy to manoeuvre around supermarkets - I definitely noticed a reduction in the amount of dirty looks that I normally receive from fellow shoppers!

Would you choose this product to win?

I loved everything about this travel system. It's usability making it stand out from any other pushchair that I've tried. This was also the only travel system that made my baby boy actually STOP crying... This is normally unheard of! So I am now fully prepared to swap a kidney for this pushchair...

What changes would you make to this product?

I found the straps/harness a bit difficult to adjust and even once I had worked them out (I'm not one for reading instruction manuals) I still found that they were a bit loose and almost a bit pointless? I also think the whole thing is incredibly expensive, but that said, I do have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about the ridiculous costs attached to these things, and it's not actually the most expensive travel system on the market.

Tested by mum Hannah Sykes for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The Uppababy Vista is easy to put up and fold away. My boot is slightly too narrow to get it in, but I just pop a wheel off and it goes straight in! I love how easy it is to attach and detach various seats and parts (like the wheels!) It looks gorgeous. I love the design and there are so many colours to choose from. The fabric is very durable and robust. It looks so comfortable for the babies. The lining of the carry cot is gorgeous. I love how it can all strip back and go in the wash.

How did this product make your life easier?

It's so easy to swap around the different parts so you can adapt to any situation really quickly. The biggest selling point for this pram though HAS the be the giant basket underneath. I've never seen one so big! At one point I had my changing bag, 4 bags of shopping and a load of loose items from other various shops! The carrier bag charge doesn't apply to me anymore...I have my Vista!!!!!

Would you choose this product to win?

The outstanding feature has to be the size of the basket while managing to keep the whole pram fairly compact and still very very stylish. Everything about it works. I felt very proud pushing this around...and I also felt very at ease. It made everything so much easier! I love it!

What changes would you make to this product?

If there was a way to make the back slightly narrower, that would be good. The wheels do get caught on lots of things as you're going round! Also, the chassis is pretty heavy. It took a bit of effort lifting it in and out of the car. It would be good if it had a stand of some sort that held it upright once it had been folded down.

Tested by mum Jolene Culley for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this travel system to a fellow mum. I loved the large basket underneath for storage. The uv sunshield is a fantastic idea and gives peace of mind when out and about with the baby walking. I also loved the flap that opened at the back to look in and check on the baby when they are in a forward facing postion. It was easy to fold and and the fact the wheels come off so it folds smaller is ideal for space saving.

How did this product make your life easier?

I think the fact there are so many options with this travel system including the double pushchair option makes life so much easier for busy mums. The multiple options allow you to keep 1 or 2 children happy whatever position they take and along with the other benefits makes a trip out simple and less stressful!

Would you choose this product to win?

The multiple options of this travel system make this product a winner. It offers more than other systems in the same price bracket. it has so many features, uv sun visor, large storage underneath, viewing window and the removable wheels which allow it to fold down smaller. The seat positions are very easy to move as is the height adjustable handle bar.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change is the width of the second stage seat, I felt it was a little small and if you had a large toddler I think it could possibly be a tight squeeze and they may grow out of it sooner than recommended, which would leave you having to spend out on another pushchair to accomodate your child.

Tested by mum Jenny Heaselgrave for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The winner with this pushchair is its ease of use and huge basket underneath that no other brand seems to rival. It has big sturdy wheels to ensure that the ride for baby is super smooth and it feels very light to push. The wheels can be easily spun off to get into the car with minimal effort. Lastly, the UV protector, which is built in, is a great bonus for ensuring little one is safe and comfortable on a sunny day.

How did this product make your life easier?

The UV protector made my life easier as I did not feel the need to attach an additional parasol on a hot day. Also, folding up and down was very easy with this and I could attach my Maxi-Cosi car seat to it, so it saved me having to buy a car seat which was in line with a different brand of pushchair. Walking on rougher terrain seemed far easier and sturdier with this and baby slept more peacefully than with pushchairs with little wheels.

Would you choose this product to win?

The practicality of this pushchair means that it should win. It is good value for money and provides mother and baby with everything they need to be out and about. I prefer this to others for how it feels to push and how comfortable my baby was in this. The red colour was appealing to the eye and they come in a range of colours.

What changes would you make to this product?

Probably the design. Unlike other brands, this pushchair comes in very solid, almost basic colours. To appeal to more people, the design could be improved with more range of colours and collections. The pushchair I opted for was based on being a design conscious mom, but this has won me over on the practical aspects and if I were to choose again, this one would be my choice.

Tested by mum Maria Xydhias-Mace for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This pushchair is amazing!! I have bought and used many pushchairs and this has to be one of the best. Both quality and design is exceptional. All the fabrics are of beautiful quality and the frame is sturdy. When used as a tandem both seat units are plenty big with large suncovers to protect from the sun. I used the bottom seat unit with a 3 year old and even though there was a large amount of weight on the front it was still extremely easy to manoeuver with one hand. The basket underneath is one of the biggest I have ever seen on a pushchair.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

This pushchair has made trips to the shops and family days out far easier as the seat units are able to easily take a 1 year old and 3 year old at the same time whilst still been easy to steer, The large basket allows us to take raincoats and picnics without having to carry on days out.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

To make this item perfect I would like to see some sort of strap or handle to enable lifting into the car easier once folded.

Tested by mum Sarah Whitthread for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Where to start? This is THE best double pushchair I have ever tried. The seats are large so both children have ample space to move around. The various foot positions is great. The seats are easy to recline and the transition from upright to reclined is very smooth so will not wake the child if they have fallen asleep. Also the large hood protects from the sun. The peep hole in the hood is magnetic so easy to lift to make sure baby/child is ok without waking them as most have noisy velcro. The pushchair is on the larger size but still fits through most doors with ease. The carrycot has been great for my little baby as it doubles up as a bassinet in the home or when out visiting. The inserts are easily removed for washing. What I also love is that my car seat can attach to the top of the frame leaving my older child riding at the bottom facing outwards.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

One pushchair is suitable from birth and then can be adjusted and other bits bought to adapt to 2 children

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

To be able to close with 2 units in place would save so much time.

Tested by mum Charlotte Floate for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Great pushchair that can be used while shopping or out and about or one child or as a double pushchair. I love all the different combinations that can be used such as car seat with seat unit, carrycot with seat unit or 2 seat units. The pushchair is easy to push and navigate through the shops with minimal effort. The handle is easy to raise and lower with a simple press of the button. The brake is easy to apply when needed. The tyres are easy to remove for cleaning off mud. The seats are easy to clean which is very important with little sticky fingers. The chasis is easy to collapse and is fairly compact once this is done.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Great multi functional pushchair which can be used in every scenario.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The price.
