Cosatto Giggle 2 Travel System

At a glance:

As always, our panel of mum testers loved the bright, colourful design of this Cosatto travel system – exiting for both parents and tots. We love the two-way pushchair, allowing you to choose whether your baby faces you or the world and the large shopping basket. The only downside is the handlebar cannot be extended, which isn’t ideal for taller parents.

What they said:

“Brightly coloured and ready to go, the Cosatto Giggle 2 in Firebird has everything you require to scoot around town with your baby. Suitable from birth, the Cosatto Giggle 2 has the traditional pram feature – for the youngest babies to lie flat and the 2-way pushchair - for older babies to sit up and look upon the road ahead. Also available is the infant hold car seat (sold separately). The Lightweight aluminium chassis is easy to fold, has all round suspension and the lockable front swivel wheels ensure the journey is always smooth. For sunny days, the Cosatto Giggle has a UPF 50 + sun shade as well as the option to add toys to the toy hoops to keep your young one entertained. The bumper bar can be removed and there is a shopping basket to store your belongings in.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The Cosatto Giggle 2 3-in-1 Travel System in Firebird is very eye-catching with a lovely fabric design. It is really easy to use and transport – from putting it together, to steering it when out and about I would definitely recommend this pram to other parents. The cost is also very competitive compared to other travel systems on the market, especially considering how high quality it is.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Cosatto Giggle 2 3-in-1 Travel System in Firebird is very easy to assemble, put up and put down and steer. In fact, the instructions it comes with are not really needed as it is so straightforward to put together. The seat allows your baby to sit both forward and parent facing and the travel system as a whole is extremely lightweight, which is excellent for a pregnant mum like myself.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose the Cosatto Giggle 2 3-in-1 Travel System in Firebird over other travel systems on the market, primarily due to the design. I love the high spec finish and the quality of the fabric used. I also thought it looked really comfortable for baby and that it was great value for money compared to other travel systems on the market.

What changes would you make to this product?

The basket under the Cosatto Giggle 2 3-in-1 Travel System in Firebird is large, however there is no separate pocket for the rain cover, which therefore takes up quite a lot of room. The shopping basket also is quite low to the ground (potentially due to the three wheels), resulting in the shopping potentially getting wet when it is raining.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I'd recommend this pushchair as it is really easy to fold up and down and transport and store. It can be both parent and world facing, so is suitable from birth upwards. It also comes with a carrycot, but the seat can be titled to a flat position if that is preferred. I also like the fact that it comes with cosy toes which are perfect for winter.

How has this product made your life easier?

This pram is easy to put up and down and I love all the accessories that come with it. There's a changing bag, which means a new parent wouldn't need to go out and buy this additional item. The pram has great suspension, making it easy to go up and down curbs and it was great on rough terrain. The shopping basket is a good size, which would allow me to carry all those extra items you need for a day out with a baby or toddler.

Would you choose this product to win?

This would definitely be a contender, as I think it's good value for money, especially for a well-known brand. The design makes it stand out (literally) from all the others on the market and I think all of the prints Cosatto design are created with both the child and parent in mind – the patterns and colours are great for little eyes to explore. This would be a great city pram as it’s not too big and bulky, but still handles well on rougher terrain.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like to see a handlebar that extends – I love the fact that you can change the style of the handlebar, adjusting it so its tilted or straight, but it was just a little low for me being nearly 5 foot 8. I'd also be tempted to have this as a four-wheeler as it did nearly tip over on one occasion when we were going round a corner.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

The whole travel system is brilliant one frame which can very easily house the separate seat, pram cot and car seat very easily.  The aerodynamic designed frame glides around all surfaces making it effortless to push with any weight.  The brake is very easy to apply & once you get the hang of erecting & dismantling the pushchair it can be done so one handed.  Not only do the vibrant colours & patterns on the system occupying little ones whilst out & about, but a lot of compliments were received about the design in general.  The pram mattress is firm but soft & the foot-muff instantly transforms the pushchair to a warm luxurious environment which my little one loves.  I thought that having the stated maximum weight would make the pushchair act differently, but in-fact it handles better, gliding effortlessly with more weight.  The car seat base makes easy work of securing the car seat in the car, although it does come loose sometimes, but a quick tighten, and it’s good again.  Another small issue is when steering on wet tiles/vinyl in shops the wheels do tend to lock & skid sometimes.  And did I mention 4 years guarantee?

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The whole travel system makes life easier in general, from lifting baby in the car seat from the quick release system base, to then popping it on the base to wheel round the shops – it’s a really pleasant experience.  The base makes inserting & removing the car seat in the car very quick & simple, before I would spend around 5 minutes putting the belt around the car seat.  Its vibrant colours & patterns keep the little one occupied with things to look at when out.  As this system converts from pram to pushchair, it negates the need to purchase a small stroller when the time comes – so it’s really from birth to 3 years old.  Not a bad investment.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

As with most newer prams these days, the hood of the pram cot doesn’t seem to do its job – it needs to be able to close further down to protect little one from the sun.  There are hood products on the market which do this – but it would be good to have this feature built in – like the Silver Cross sleepover prams.  The base of the car seat would benefit from being an isofix as it does come loose in the car.

We love this travel system. Fantastic colour designs and patterns. Smooth ride for my little one. Easy to fold. Great size shopping basket.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The Cosatto Giggle 2 is perfect. Great size shopping basket. Easy release of the carrycot/chair/car seat from the frame. The chair can be parent facing or world facing which will be fantastic as my little one grows.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The carrycot could do with being a bit wider as my son almost fills the width but still has room in the length.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I would definitely recommend this product as it is a very stylish looking travel system with lovely colours and even the frame is a modern fashionable green colour. It also handles very well when pushing and is light even though it feels very sturdy. Easy to fold away and fits very well in car. Overall I was very pleased with this product and my baby was very safe and secure.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

It is easy to put up and fold down and fits bet we'll in the car with room to put things on top of it also. The car seat is also very easy to secure in the car which means it doesn't take a long time to get in the car and doesn't wake up a sleeping baby when getting it out of the car. The pram is very easy to push and manoeuvre on the pavement even on an uneven surface.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The bottom frame is quite low which means sometimes getting it up a curb or step can be slightly tricky but overall this wasn't a massive issue.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

We LOVE this travel system. Everything about it is a dream. The brightly designed patterns, the ease of assembly/foldability,  its smooth ride for my little one. Everything has been thoughtfully designed with mum's and dads in mind. It is lightweight, which makes it easy to lift in and out of a car. It folds nice and compact too making it fantastic to store between each use.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

My little one regularly falls asleep when in the pushchair. The sturdy carry cot is great because i can take it off the frame and put him in the house and leave him to sleep, the carry cot carry handle makes this easy. This travel system has it all. Suitable from birth, quick release wheels, meaning no need to get your car interior covered in mud. Toy loops in the hood to hand little ones favourite toys from. Cosatto also provide a 4 year guarantee.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

One thing I did find, having the carry cot on i struggled to apply the break as i have short legs. However this was no problem when the car seat or seat unit was being used

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This travel system is so easy to assemble. The fabric designs are bright and eye catching. It is fantastic that Cosatto offer a 4 year guarantee. Which should cover most parents for the life of one child's use. The travel system is easy to collapse after each use. It also stores lovely and flat.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The collapse mechanism is great.  The system can be easily and quickly changed from carrycot, pushchair or car seat mode. I loved that the seat unit could be parent facing or world facing. A fantastic feature as my daughter grows and becomes more independent.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Can't think of anything that would improve this wonderful travel system.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

We love how bright and vibrant the fabrics are. The colours stimulate my baby. It is really easy to clean. Especially the wheels as they have quick release so even after a walk in the forest the mud doesn't transfer into the car.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

We attend a baby group. Looking around the room there are lots of black car seats. The Cosatto really stands out. Easy to spot.  I have been stopped many times by people asking about the Giggle 2. I have to store our travel system in the house so it is easy for school runs. It folds really flat so it is easy to store. It also has a really lightweight frame so is easy to get in and out of the car.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

It would be great if there was a better way to hold the straps out of the car seat whilst putting the baby in. As my baby always ends up sitting on them. I then have to try and get the out without harming my baby.

ITS AMAZING!! I have never had so many people comment on the look of a pushchair before. It is striking and I love to push it around and see people looking at it, especially when they ask about it too.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I love that the wheels come off.  We have a dog and go on lots of muddy walks with the pram, so being able to take these off to clean them independently (therefore not getting the rest of the pram wet) and not getting the car muddy too!

Tested by dad Ady Leyland for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow parent?

Design of the co-coordinating system is excellent, a pram for when baby is really small and seat to progress on to.  Car seat then slips onto the adaptors making for speedy trips out of the car to the shops!!?  It handles really well, and you can get around tight corners with ease without knocking stuff of shelves etc.  The colourful & repetitive design keeps the little one amused, comes in 8 different designs (we had the firebird).  Overall it’s well made, great quality and has some lovely designs available, easy to assemble & collapse making it really practical to use, it also comes with a 4 year guarantee, so added piece of mind if anything does go wrong.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

It’s a practical system, the base makes it easy to load & unload the car seat into the car,  car seat adaptors mean you don’t have to lug the car seat around or if little one is sleeping remove her from the car seat to place in the pushchair/pram.  You have the added bonus with the pram when little one is really small to when she is ready to move on to the next stage…observing what’s going on around her.  The tags at the top of all seats are brilliant idea to hang the toys from – stops the use of safety pins!?

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Would be good to have a recline action with the pram/cot part as you have with the pushchair part as this would aide in better sleeping for the little one, which would be a great help for babies with reflux & colic, and would negate the use of towels & bedding to prop babies up.

The Frame is light to push & very easily manoeuvred, with the pram, pushchair & car seat components easily fitted under any circumstance.  The pushchair also doubles as a great place to feed baby her dinners when out with is great recline action.  The colours are fun & eye catching, even with the bees & wasps!?  Easy to erect & collapse and take in and out of the car, and brilliant that the wheels come off so even when its wet outside the car stays clean?!  It’s very good value for money for a complete travel system with an added bonus of the 4 year guarantee, just incase something were to happen

I think it’s great for a single mum, but if you have 2 it could easily be knocked over – so being a little more study would be beneficial.  Also the frame scratches quite easily.
