Mother & Baby 2018 Shortlist

At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved how soft these nappies were. The cute design helps distract little one when changing, and the nappies are great value for money.

What they say:

“Boasting feather-like softness for comfort and super absorbent gel beads for protection, it all adds up to creating a nappy that offers up to 12-hour dryness that keeps baby snug through the night. Which means you can sleep a little easier!”

Tested by mum Penny Ogden for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product because I think it is good value for money and the quality of the material is softer than any others I have tried. I would now look into buying these as a regular purchase for my toddler and newborn. The design was fun and different, so my toddler enjoyed getting them out ready for nappy change – she loved the animals on them. They seemed to bulge overnight a bit, but the most important thing was the fact that they didn’t leak.

How did this product make your life easier?

The nappy seems comfortable for my toddler, very soft and kind to the skin. We had two nappies that did split by the time she got up in the morning, but otherwise they held well and leakages were avoided.

Would you choose this product to win?

This nappy is a strong candidate to win, my favourite element is the soft feel to it and also the flexibility of the nappy. It was therefore easier to put onto my toddler and fold away into the bin afterwards. We definitely didn’t use nappy creams as often as usual whilst using these, as the material was soft against my baby’s skin, causing no irritation.

What changes would you make to this product?

I don’t think that there would be anything we would want to change!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this nappy brand to a friend, but I would suggest that Asda work on their customer service reputation, following the recall of the new born products recently.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product does make my life easier, the packaging is easy to open and carry around. The nappies seem to be of good quality and hold in liquids very securely.

Would you choose this product to win?

I much prefer reusable nappies made of cloth, as I believe they are much healthier for baby and are better for the environment. However, for disposable nappies, this Little Angels range is very good value, due to how many you get in one packet.

What changes would you make to this product?

Not much about the product, it was very good and proves popular amongst mums. I do think that brands should be starting to put more of an environmental emphasis on their products, including making responsible packaging that can be recycled.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would highly recommend the Little Angels Comfort and Protect nappies to a friend, they are easy to use, keep smells at bay and appear to be comfortable for my little one. He had no rashes or other complaints during his time trialling them.

How did this product make your life easier?

The nappy was absorbent and lasted well throughout the day with minimal leaks. My baby seemed comfortable whilst wearing the nappy and it seemed to be a good size and fit. I was happy that there were no leaks, considering my baby is very active and the elasticated back is a great design feature, and I liked the friendly design on the nappy. I feel that it is excellent value for money, and would strongly recommend that others bought this product.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose these above other nappies as I found them to be high quality, good value for money and overall excellent.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would make the tabs a different colour – for example Pampers use green tabs that are easier to locate. It’s not a massive change, but would definitely make a difference when changing baby in low light.

Tested by mum Deborah Taylor for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I don’t think I would recommend these nappies, as I felt they weren’t the best quality. I had to change my daughter twice as often, including her clothes and she was waking up in the night soaked through. They would really need to work on this nappy range for me to consider it again.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is good value as you get a lot of nappies for what you pay. However, I ended up going through twice as many, as they kept leaking. This did not make my life easier.

Would you choose this product to win?

No, I wouldn’t choose it to win because we had so many leaking issues.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would make the nappies thicker and stronger, so that they would be able to absorb more liquid and keep baby nice and dry.

Tested by mum Gillian Anderson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these nappies to a fellow mum because they are incredibly good value for money and hold liquid very well. They were easy to use and my little Charlie looked and felt comfortable in them. Also there was no bad smell coming from the nappy in the morning even when the nappy was full. The character design was fun and I used it to distract my little one when I was trying to change him!

How did this product make your life easier?

These nappies make my life easier as a mum because they save me a lot of money. In my opinion, they are just as good as the main brand leader and you get more in a pack. We put them on our little boy at night and although it was very heavy in the morning, the nappy had not leaked. Therefore, I wasn’t having to completely strip him and wash him down, which all saved time and effort.

Would you choose this product to win?

I had never used Asda nappies before this trial, only trusting Pampers, but now I have switched to Little Angels because they are cheaper. They are just as good as Pampers and my little boy is none the wiser.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about these nappies, it would be to try and make them less bulky when full. They really do puff up and it doesn’t look comfortable for my little one as it restricts his movement.
