At a glance:

With a cute gender-neutral design, these Ocado nappies are great, with a good fit even on skinny legs.

What they say:

"Ocado Ultra Dry nappies combine a super absorbent filling with an extra soft drying-layer to keep your baby comfortable and dry throughout the day and night. Made with ultra-soft, stretchy materials to ensure a snug, cosy fit."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Baby Ocado Size 4 Ultra Dry nappies to other mums. The design is gender neutral and unobtrusive – I wouldn’t mind if it ended up on show. The edges of the nappy and the tabs are made of a lovely soft material and this was much appreciated for my active and wriggly child. We didn’t get any leaks at all and the nappies were pretty absorbent so there wasn’t the risk of additional mess when changing baby. The pack is also a good size with a generous quantity of nappies included, so these are good value for money.

How did this product make your life easier?

The nappy has a clear front and back, which means it is easy to pull on whilst out an about. The sides are soft and the nappy is well padded. I found that the sizing was a little bigger than the usual nappies I buy, but this wasn’t necessarily a negative thing as it means I will get longer use out of these nappies.  The sticky tabs were good and strong and were designed so they would only stick to the nappy and not to everything else, such as the baby or changing mat. Again, a really good feature when you are dealing with a wriggly baby.

Whilst these were a good choice for daytime use, they didn’t last us through the night and my daughter is not a long sleeper. We had to change her during the night each time she wore these as she was pretty damp. They were absolutely perfect for daytime use though and stood up well to being tested by a very active crawler and explorer, so I would be happy to use these again during the day. I did find them bigger than the current nappies I use in the same size, so they were a bit looser than I was used to and I think I would have considered going down a size to see if they were a better fit. Overall, these were a good quality product, but I feel my current nappies are a better fit and last us through the night without waking up the baby, so we will be sticking to those.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like a dampness indicator on the product so I can tell at a glance if the nappy needs changing. This is always useful for a quick check before you leave the house. My other issue is that this product is not readily available where I live, as Ocado not do not do home delivery in my area and the nearest Waitrose is a 30-minute drive away.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend these nappies to another mum, mainly down to the comfort element. The material seemed softer around the legs and tummy than our usual brand. Ultimately with nappies you would like your baby to be happy wearing them and for them to function to the highest standard.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product does make my life easier, for one they are more compact than the usual brand that we use. This frees up precious changing bag space. It also means baby is much more comfortable. For the majority of the time, they were leak free, save for a couple of night time leakages.

Would you choose this product to win?

It would depend on price – I currently use a supermarket brand which are easily accessible at a great price. I have never shopped at Ocado, and I think I am right in assuming that it is online only. In terms of quality of materials used, yes, I would choose these over others on the market.

What changes would you make to this product?

Maybe the skirting on the legs could pop out easier – I do not know how this would be achieved, but found myself having to prize it out once the nappy was on. I have not had to do this with our usual brand. I became obsessed thinking the skirting being tucked in was the cause for the leaks we experienced, but it could just be that our baby is a big night time wee’er!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would most definitely recommend the Ocado Ultra Dry Nappies to friends and fellow mums. Not only are they a very reasonable price, but they are extremely absorbent and seem very comfortable. They have a luxurious feel and fit and I have never had a leak. Some brands tend to feel very full after a few hours, but I have never had a sodden nappy first thing in the morning after a full 12 hours with these Ocado nappies. Most new mums search for the best nappy for overnight use and these nappies have been the best I have used.

How did this product make your life easier?

My first thoughts on the Ocado Ultra Dry nappies were how soft and luxurious they felt. They are very easy to open and fasten on my baby, making nappy changes much easier with a baby who likes to roll around. They are not bulky and they fit well around her legs. I find some nappy brands will leave a small mark around the middle and thighs but I have never experienced this with the Ocado Ultra Dry nappies which I think shows how soft and gentle the material is. They are very absorbent nappies, even for a full 12 hours overnight.

I have used many brands of nappy and would say that the Ocado Ultra Dry brand have been the best all round. The most important factor for me is nighttime dryness. These nappies have never leaked at all and my baby seems extremely comfortable in them. They are the most luxurious nappies I have used, from the way they feel to the actual nappy design and packaging.

What changes would you make to this product?

It is extremely difficulty find any fault with the Ocado Ultra Dry nappies. For me, they fit every criterion I would look for when choosing a nappy for my baby. The only one thing that would make it easier for me when buying nappies, would be the availability to purchase larger packs. I tend to purchase nappies in bulk and find it helpful to have a few large packs at home.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product as it fulfils all the requirements a nappy should – they have really great absorbency and are super easy to use. My baby was completely happy and comfortable in them, the nappies were not too tight or and didn’t restrict my baby’s movements. I also thought they had a very cute design; the colourful animals were a nice feature. We found the material to be good, the stick-on labels worked very well and overall, very good product.

How did this product make your life easier?

It’s a great product and was much better than expected. I have to admit I never heard that there were Ocado nappies, so didn’t know what to expect in terms of quality. I must say even compared to the top brands, these scored high for me – the material was great, the absorbency was very good and they lasted a long time. We used these through the night with my baby sleeping average 10-12 hours and in the morning, they were full, but had no leakages and my baby’s bum was dry so they were really great at soaking up the liquid.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would choose these nappies to win. I have to admit that I’ve been partial to choosing known brands rather than testing different ones, but these compared fantastically well. As mentioned, the material and absorbency was very good and the nappies were really great value compared to more well-known brands which is so important. I will be buying these again!

What changes would you make to this product?

I think a great feature to add would be an indicator on the nappy to know when the nappy was wet – while not essential, it would be handy to see. Other than that, I can’t think of anything else as these nappies ticked all the other boxes for me.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend these nappies to other mums! I was really impressed with them and was surprised that they were so inexpensive as well. My kids are quite small but very heavy wetters, so finding a good nappy is difficult, but these really did the trick. They fit well, even on skinny legs, and there's no leaking. What more could you ask for!

How did this product make your life easier?

I really can't fault this nappy, it does exactly what you'd expect! I love that it is reliable and I can use it with confidence both during the day and at night. I have three children in nappies, so it's important that nappy changes are quick and easy and after using this nappy daily, I can confidently say that it hasn't let me down.

Would you choose this product to win?

In comparison to other similar nappies, I found these to be the slimmest. I really wasn't sure if they would hold up over night because they are so thin and feel like there's nothing to it but they did, time and time again. I loved how soft these nappies felt on the inside. I have found similar nappies to feel quite plastic, but with this one I feel good about putting it on my baby and having it against her skin. I think that this nappy deserves to win as it's pretty much perfect.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would prefer more colour or design on the nappies as I found them a bit dull, but I know this is just personal preference.
