What they say:

“The BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors has an in-built infant insert, meaning it fits newborns perfectly, the wide, adjustable straps make it comfortable when your toddler (up to 33 lbs/15 kg) is tired and needs a ride on Mum or Dad's back. The adjustment options for both child and parent make One Outdoors a brilliant alternative to a traditional baby carrier.

“The fabric, is water and dirt repellent, easy to wipe clean, which is a huge advantage on hikes and other outdoor activities. At the same time, it has elasticity and stability, and the inside is soft against little cheeks and mouths. ”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

As a huge fan of BabyBjörn products, they again didn't disappoint me with this carrier! It is sturdy, has a huge amount of support for the baby when in a parent facing and outward facing position. I was really impressed with the quality of material used and loved all the safety clips which allowed me to feel confident that my baby was 100% secure and I could happily walk along hands free!! Putting the actual baby carrier on couldn't have been simpler, it was very comfortable to wear!

How did this product make your life easier?

It means that instead of always having to pull my pushchair around and dragging it in and out of the car boot, I can simply take this carrier everywhere and use it in virtually any situation. It's an incredibly well made product with oodles of safety features, which as a mum you want to know baby isn't going to fall out of it! The material is high quality and very sturdy and well made, it’s a great product.

The BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors isn't cheaply made, the materials are of a really high quality. I love the safety clasps and feel confident when wearing it, that baby is happy and safe! I love how simple It is to put on and adjust and how comfortable it is to wear.

What changes would you make to this product?

It's not a cheap product, it's definitely mid/high range in price and although the features are fab I feel that the price makes it a little out of reach for people to afford.

This BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors fulfilled everything I would need for a day out. I loved the colour and the fact that I could put the carrier on and strap my son in, without the help of anyone else. The strap that goes aorund your stomach felt secure and was comfortable especially as I had a c-section.

How did this product make your life easier?

As I don’t drive it is easier for me to use public transport with a baby carrier. I have the freedom to jump on and off trains and dont have to worry about pushchair spaces on the bus. This carrier is sturdy enough for whole day trips and places which are crowded. It saves me using the pushchair and I feel that my son is safe and secure at all times.

Would you choose this product to win?

It is sturdy and secure and also very easy to use if you are alone. For long days out, this carrier can be used for the whole day and doesn’t put pressure on my back. My son likes being close to me and he didn’t fuss being in this carrier. I loved the colour and the material felt breathable.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change is to incorperate a dribble bib into the design. My son is currently teething so I had to put a small muslin square in front to stop his dribble sticking to his face or wetting my clothes.

The BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors comes in a lovely blue colour, I think it looks fairly stylish, I did not feel embarrassed to wear it in public. The BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors was easy to put on and fairly self-explanatory, fairly easy to adjust, although you do need to read the instructions to work out how to use the baby insert, though this was fairly easy to work out once you've read the instructions. I like the fact that this carrier can be used from a young age as you are more likely to use it when baby is small and lighter .

How did this product make your life easier?

Able to easily take baby to the shops when two hands are required, therefore making me more mobile, nicer than a buggy as baby can also be wrapped in your coat and kept warm and snug, and particularly helpful when doing jobs where a buggy does not cope well e.g. feeding my horse having to walk across a muddy field.

Unlike a lot of the slings I have tried I feel like she is very secure and I am therefore truly hands-free. Baby is happy to sit in the sling, and it is great that she can be forward facing and still safe and secure .

What changes would you make to this product?

I would make the BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors cheaper, I find that it is a fairly high price, although it does the job it is three or four times as expensive as some of the slings on the market. I do also find that after wearing the sling for about an hour it starts to hurt my lower back and hips.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors to a friend / fellow mum as it is stylish (nice colours and design), seems durable (sturdy build), easy to use (could use without the need for instructions) and I liked how the carrier could be used in 3 different positions (& how you could change from front to back easily).

How did this product make your life easier?

The BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors makes my life easier as a mum because the ease of quickly putting the baby carrier on and walking out of the door means my baby and I can enjoy even more time with our friends, negotiate our way around town and not have to worry about whether the place we want to go to would /would not be accessible.

What changes would you make to this product?

One of the things I would change about the BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors is the overall comfort when wearing it. In particular the shoulder strap comfort (ie by increasing the shoulder pad padding) and the waist band (I couldn't tighten it enough and on the tightest setting it did not lie flush against my body).

Tested by mum Alexis Hogarth for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors to a fellow parent because it is a simple design with incredible versatility. The fact that it can accommodate my baby from newborn to 3 years old is great as I wouldn't need to buy multiple carriers. My only qualm is the price which is a bit steep. I'm not sure that it is something that a lot of my friends could afford new.

How did this product make your life easier?

This BabyBjörn Carrier One Outdoors makes my life easier as it is simple to use, just clicking and setting off with my little one. I feel safe in the knowledge that it has been approved by the Hip Dysplasia society and that I can't trap his fingers in any of the uniquely designed fasteners. The padding on the hip and shoulder straps make it comfortable to use for long periods of time and with my baby in the carrier I can cover terrain that a pram wouldn't allow.

Would you choose this product to win?

The simplicity of the deisgn for usability and the sleek, high quality finish makes this a great product. I would recommend this except for one thing. The price is very high and a lot of parents would be pushed to afford this.

What changes would you make to this product?

One downside of this carrier is that I feel that I and possibly my baby overheat wearing it slightly which is a disadvantage if you want to wear it doing outdoor activities where you are exerting yourself. If the materials used were more breathable this might help however, I don't know of any carriers similar to this in comfort that wouldn't do the same.
