At a glance:

This reusable swimming nappy not only saves space in your suitcase, it looks adorable on your tot. With plenty of designs to choose from, the adjustable waistband keeps accidents to a minimum. Our panel of mum testers loved this design, but wished it came with a matching top for their daughters.

What they say:

“Keep your baby trendy while they tread the water with our award-winning reusable swim nappies. Perfect for use in the pool and on holiday too!”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

These swim shorts makes life a lot easier, as there is no messing around with disposable swim pants, they slip on a lot easier than a disposable swim pant, and if you have a wriggly baby like mine, this alone is brilliant! It also saves space when packing for holidays, as instead of taking lots of disposable swim pants, you only need this one.

How did the product make your life easier?

When I got the product I was unsure if it would meet my expectations, but it definitely did! Inside the pack was a sheet with all the different designs you could choose from, and the range was very good. There were plenty of different patterns for the swim shorts to choose from. I have used this regularly in the paddling pool with my little girl in these warm months we have been having, and I cannot fault it at all, highly recommended.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this swim pant in particular above others as I found it so easy to use. The designs were great and had a wide range for girls and boys. I also thought the price was very reasonable. It held all accidents in perfectly and was so convenient for us every time we used it. I will definitely be buying more in different colours and patterns!

What changes would you make to the product?

If I could change anything about this swim pant it is that for the girlier choices, maybe have the pant built into a swimming costume? I realise the cost of the item would be significantly higher, but a swimming costume with built in swim pants would be perfect. Other than that I cannot fault this product. Five stars here from a very happy mummy!

I loved the gorgeous design of the swim nappy. It was more like a pair of bikini bottoms than a nappy, and there are several cute designs to choose from. I also loved how easy it was to put on and take off. I liked how the waistband was adjustable and the elasticated leg openings fitted snugly but comfortably around my little ones’ thighs. The cotton lining was super soft and I thought my daughter seemed very comfortable in it. It was also very easy to wash.

How did this product make your life easier?

One of the great things about this nappy is that you don't need to use a disposable swim nappy underneath, so the reusable nappy is all you need to carry with you. I've been on holiday before and run out of disposable swim nappies and been unable to find any, so this is hugely helpful, as it means you'll never find yourself without a swim nappy. I also hugely preferred this nappy to others available, which are made from neoprene or other wetsuit like materials, because it was much easier to put on my little one and she seemed more comfortable in it than she has in the neoprene-style nappies in the past. It can be hard to pull the neoprene nappies on, whereas this was just like pulling up a pair of pants. It also has a little tie up string around the waist to tighten the waistband so that it fits snugly around baby's tummy, creating a tight seal. The elasticated leg openings fitted snugly too.

I much prefer the Bambino Mio nappy to other swim nappies that I have tried in the past. My daughter seemed far more comfortable in it, as she was able to move freely, and it was far easier to get on and take off. The reusable nappy was also far more convenient to use than a disposable swim nappy for the simple fact it can be washed and used again and again. There's also no need for a separate bathing suit, as it can be worn on its own and is super cute.

What changes would you make to this product?

I loved the bikini-bottoms style swim nappy and the fact that it comes in various fabrics, but it would be great if there was also the choice for matching bikini tops, or as an alternative swimsuit with the swim nappy built in. It would also be very cute if they made matching sun hats too.

Tested my mum Claire Glennen for the Mother & Baby Awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The product is very nice and the quality is good, but I actually wouldn't recommend it. I'm not sure if it is supposed to stop leakages (I presume it should) but it didn't, as when I took my baby out of the pool she weed all over me. Luckily she didn't have a poo, or it could have been very embarrassing – on that basis I wouldn't use it again.

How did this product make your life easier?

The product was very easy to get on my baby and wasn't too bulky, so it fit under her swimming costume very easily. The drawstring is also a nice feature, as you can adjust the size as baby grows. It was also very soft so my baby seemed comfortable and didn't cry (which she usually does on most occasions). It's reusable too.

Would you choose this product to win?

No, I would try something else. This was the first time we had gone swimming and the nappy did nothing to stop my baby's wee. I don't have any experience of any other product of this nature I'm afraid, but I presume the nappies should stop the wee coming out. It seems quite thin and not very absorbent.

What changes would you make to this product?

The absorbency needs to be improved for the nappy to stop wee coming out.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I loved the simplicity of just pulling them on and letting the little terror crawl off – no more fighting with him to get a swim nappy on! On holiday they take up very little room in the suitcase, leaving that little bit more room for another pair of sandals! Baby seemed comfortable in them, and didn’t tug at them once. The material felt great, and there were lots of different designs to choose from. When I opened the pack I was worried that the ocean drop design would look girly on my son, but was pleasantly surprised that they looked good on him. Very easy to wash and came out of the washing machine without any damage. Will definitely recommend these to my mummy friends.

How did this product make your life easier?

This swim nappy is easy to use, simple to pull on, and off your little one goes. I loved the fact that there was no need for any additional nappy, meaning that it was less bulky and therefore easier for baby to move around. Some disposable nappies are not very attractive and need to have another swim product on top. This product looks lovely when on, so it is so simple to use.

Would you choose this product to win?

I loved the different designs that you could from, although I thought that there were more choices for girls than there were for boys. I would choose this product over others, as the design is good - it is easy to use and saves a whole lot on packaging. It is great that you can just throw it into the washing machine to be washed. My only slight worry was that on two occasions, despite being left to dry overnight, the nappy was still damp in the morning.

What changes would you make to this product?

The size of the nappies would be better to be changed. My son is ten and a half months old, and is in the 6-12 month nappies. He is 21lbs and is a normal weight for his age and size, yet the size of the nappy came up slightly small (builder bottom in a baby!) I have recommended to mummy friends that they should buy the next size up to get a better fit.

Tested by mum Abbie Jenkins for the Mother & Baby Awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this swim nappy because it is great value for money, is so easy to use, and does its job perfectly. It is more absorbent than disposable swim nappies, and the drawstring waist means it is easy to put in and take off, even if baby has done a poo! It washes really well and keeps its shape perfectly.

How did this product make your life easier?

This swim nappy is great; it fits a wide range of sizes thanks to the drawstring waist, fits perfectly under a happy nappy and saves on multiple packs of disposable swim nappies, which, if like me, you won't use a whole pack of, as we don't swim regularly enough to use them all. It is easy to put on and remove and washes really well.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely choose this nappy above others. It is the only reusable swim nappy I have used, but the design, shape and ease of use mean that I would certainly buy it again and have already got the next size up, ready for when my daughter needs it. The range of designs it is available in as well as the drawstring waist feature are definitely winners for me!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only one thing I would improve is the size of the swim nappy. It fits more like a pair of knickers, but it would be helpful if it came slightly higher up baby's body and fitted up to the belly button to ensure full coverage and absorbency. Other than that, it's perfect as it is! It's a minor gripe though.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Lovely cute designs, very easy to get on and off, and seemed really comfortable and secure for my daughter to wear.  Not too bulky, like other swim nappies I have used before.  Takes up much less space in the suitcase than disposables.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I prefer these reusable nappies to the disposable swim nappies as not only are they better for the environment but I also like that they don't seem to hold water like the disposable ones, so is ultimately more comfortable for my daughter.  This will make my life easier as I no longer have to take big packets of disposables away on holiday with me now.  Takes up much less space in the suitcase.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The only very slight negative I can think of, is that maybe the sizing comes up a little big.  My daughter is nearly 15 months, but we have been using the 6-12 month size which seems to fit perfectly.  Other than that, I think that they are pretty perfect!

Tested by mum Eleanor Ormrod for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This product comes in a really lovely range of bright, colourful and cute designs, i would really struggle to choose one. The nappy is well designed with a snug fit around the leg to prevent leakages, and a drawstring waist if they are between sizes. They are designed to be lightweight in the water so they can allow baby to swim without being weighed down by a soggy nappy. It's also ideal if going on holiday because you can just put this in the bag without having to take disposable swim nappies.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I take my son swimming regularly and can really believe this product will save me lots of money on disposable swim nappies. I love the fact this can be used without needing the disposable nappy as this is economical and environmentally friendly too.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

It suggests a maximum swim time of 1 hour after which time the nappy becomes less leak proof, i wish this was slightly longer.

Tested by mum Jemma Jones for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

These little nappies are great. They are so easy to use. They hold up nicely with the tie. They are comfortable for my little boy. They do not cling to his skin and hurt him to pull off when they are wet. You can re-use them over and over again so saves me money. They are lightweight and easily used again once dry. They come in fab colours and are made of a nice material.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I find using these easier than using disposable nappies as they take up less space in a suit case you only need two or three rather than 10/20. They are nicer on my babies skin too.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

That they do matching swimwear too.
