At a glance:

This no-fall, no-spill, travel cup by Nuby will mean your little one can keep hydrated while on the go. The Captain Steel Active Cup has many benefits, including keeping their drink cool for 6 hours and it's easy for them to grab and hold too.

How did this product make your life easier?

Rachael: My daughter loves this cup. She finds it very easy to drink from and it keeps the water really nice and cold for her. It holds a good quantity of water, therefore, I don’t have to constantly fill it up. She is able to hold it easily and it has a good grip, therefore, doesn’t slip from her hands so I don’t have to pick it up for her.

Michelle: We love this cup. The non-spill lid is a godsend when out and about and the handle at the top means I can clip it on to the buggy or nappy bag. It keeps the contents nice and cold for long periods of time and holds quite a large amount of liquid unlike some of its competitors.

Jenny: I decided to use this cup for both my 18mth and my 3-year-old. We used it on a hot day just to test how good the cup was to keep the juice inside cool and we weren't disappointed. Even after 3 hours the juice inside was still cool. The handle size is just right to clip onto the handle of the pram for easy access as well as when the boys wanted to carry it around in the park. The number of times the cup was dropped or stood on and there wasn't a dent on it at all no leaks either which tends to happen with the other cups that are about. There was no need to be putting in the baby bag to keep it cool for longer either. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was when we went to clean the spout, the straw came out nicely but the spout we weren't able to separate from the lid so when we needed to sterilize it was wasn't able to do properly.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Sharon: I would gladly recommend this to a friend or family as it is perfect for keeping liquids cold during the hot weather. The design is nice and simple. It is easy to carry around and can be attached to the buggy via a dummy clip. The cup doesn't leak either which is a massive bonus. It is also dishwasher friendly. The carry handle is great for kids to be able to carry this themselves. This product also comes with a free cleaning brush which made it a lot easier to clean with. Very happy with this product and would gladly recommend to friends and family. 10 out of 10.

Carlie: I would definitely recommend this product to other mums as its hard-wearing, comes in a choice of 4 designs. I particularly like the light blue shade as this is more gender-neutral than the traditional 'blue' that most manufacturers choose. It's light enough to carry even when full by my nearly 2-year-olds, and it keeps the liquids cool inside due to being steel, not plastic.

Jane: Yes I think this product should win because it is so much easier to use and clean than others. Being metal, it doesn't get smelly like plastic cups can be. It hooks onto the side of my bag with a useful clip. I would change nothing about this product and will be buying another one for my other son. Highly recommend!

Would you choose this product to win?

Sharon: I would choose this product over others as I have found it to be very handy to carry around. My child didn't have to bite the silicone either to get the liquid out just when suction was applied. The cup itself is so strong and sturdy. It's great for kids who are heavy-handed. There has been no spillage either which means it is great for putting in the changing bag and taking with you on a journey. The one thing that really stood out was how well the liquid remained cold after long periods of time. This was an excellent feature. This product should win above all others.

Jasmin: I would choose this product above all others on the market because although it is more expensive than plastic bottles, it is made from premium materials, which allows it to keep its contents cool. The spout is dentist approved and the bottle comes in attractive designs. My daughter enjoys pinging the spout open with the button on the lid which keeps the spout clean and prevents it from leaking.

Charlotte: The cup is really well thought out in terms of design. The rocket design is perfect for girls and boys which is great. The cup offers great value for money compared to others on the market. It’s robust and built to last unlike many plastic cups so is perfect for trips to the park as well as further afield.

What changes would you make to this product?

Simrit: Unfortunately there are a few things I would change about this product. It’s definitely a quality product that looks great and keeps water cool but I wasn’t impressed with the leaking and also found cleaning wasn’t easy. To clean the bottle, you have to pull the soft spout and seal out and then put them back into the cup. Also, I think it would be better for toddlers if the cup was lighter and slightly slimmer thereby making it easier for little hands to hold.

Lauren: I would definitely change the design to the spout. Although it's a fantastic idea, the water pressure sometimes caused the contents of the cup to splurt out of the top. This is not ideal when out and about or if there is juice in the cup. I have had a couple of occasions where this has happened in people's homes which isn't ideal at all. Otherwise nothing at all.

Jenny: If there could be one thing, it would be nice if it was a little bigger for more drink in the cup. I would also like to see another cup with all the same features but possibly with a smaller spout, as my 18-month-old struggled to get a good suction on the spout to get the drink up the straw. Overall I'm very happy with the cup.
