The insulated stainless-steel food jars make storing hot or cold food easy, even on the busiest days with your youngsters. Your food will stay cool and refreshed for up to 7 hours, and your hot foods keep food warm for up to 5 hours with the help of Nuby's food jar. They also come with their own spork!

How did this product make your life easier?

Nikki: The Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar is really easy to use, very handy and so easy to keep clean. The spork makes it easy for toddlers to eat a variety of foods from it. It is a decent size – easy to put into a changing bag or large handbag. It is dishwasher safe which is convenient and makes it easy to clean.

Phillipa: This product is brilliant for taking out and about for the day, allowing you to keep food hot or cold. The spork that is attached means that I never forget to take cutlery (this was a common problem before I started using this jar!) It’s a good size and enables me to take a good portion of food out. We have mainly used it to store cold food and it has stayed cold for at least 6 hours. It basically takes away my worry about food going off whilst we are having a day out!

Katherine: It’s hard to heat food up when you’re out and about. This allows me to take food that I want my little one to eat and I know is nutritious, so it gives her the best food. It also saves money as I won't be buying something hot for her to eat when we're out. It doesn’t leak which is fantastic and the fork being attached to it is great as I regularly lose forks and spoons on our travels. I can also easily fit it in the buggy/food bag or my handbag as it’s not massive, but it also holds a really generous amount. My little one has had some food intolerances which means eating out for lunch can be really difficult unless taking cold food with us. This lets me cook things that she can eat and take them with us, so it really cuts down on the worry of whether I have something she can eat that’s hot and nutritious in a cafe.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Rukshana: It has a great design in that the jar is insulated, plus there is an attached spork for feeding. The lid seals well so the contents do not spill when on the go. The colours are bright and attractive to children. I particularly loved the attached spork as it makes it even easier for mums. It is compact and easily transportable.

Charlie: Yes I would recommend this product to other parents, and I feel it can make life a lot easier. It is a versatile product that could support a child who is weaning, up to a child who is fully weaned. In fact, I have even used it for lunch! It has meant I can offer a range of foods when out and about rather than opting for a pouch.

Eleanor: As we were testing this in the summer months we mostly used the food jar for keeping snacks cool and it did that well. My daughter really liked the design of the rocket which coupled with the fact that she could feed herself with the spork really encouraged her to eat whatever I had put in it - most often fruit.

Would you choose this product to win?

Julie: There have been very similar products on the market for quite a while already. So I don't think this product deserves to win as I fail to see the innovative element to it. I do not own any of the other stainless steel insulated jars that are available so I wasn't able to compare, but the designs look very similar, with the spork and all the other features. The Nuby one does come with a cleaning brush as a bonus but I didn't find it particularly useful. I personally wouldn't buy this insulated food jar purely because I have very little need for it.

Sarah: I would choose this product above others. I haven’t seen a product like this before where it is a good size for a toddler and also has a nice design. I think it should win its category as it is a great product to have, especially for a day out or a picnic. It is a fairly good price for what it is although I wouldn’t consider it particularly affordable for everyone (especially if you have more than one child) at nearly £15.

Jade: I have experience of similar products from other brands and have found this item to be the most reliable and the one that works best! It keeps food warm for the time stated and makes dinner away from home a lot easier, particularly if you don’t have the money to go out and buy dinners in restaurants/cafes! Other than its lovely and bright pattern, I think this product should win because of how well it works and how easy it is to use!

What changes would you make to this product?

Charlie: There isn't really much I would change about the product. I think the price could put parents off if they were to compare it to other shop brands that may be cheaper but offer the same. However, I have always been impressed with Nuby products so I would probably stick with what I know, and pay the cost.

Phillipa: It would be useful to have the time inscribed on the jar somewhere - I always forget how many hours it can store hot food, and how many hours it can store cold food. Having this on the jar would be a really handy reminder for me. Other than this, I really like the jar and wouldn’t change anything else.

Eleanor: I would like to see it in less stereotypically gendered colours. It is available in blue with rockets (which my daughter loved) or pink with rainbows. Whilst there isn't anything wrong with blue or pink, I'd prefer to see it in a greater range of colours, perhaps green with dinosaurs or orange with tigers.
