What they say:

“Parents don't vibrate like bouncy seats or rock like swings. They bounce and sway, and that's what the mamaRoo does: it moves like you do. The Bluetooth-enabled mamaRoo marks the first time an infant seat has entered the Internet of Things space. Parents can control the device using an app, enabling them to adjust the motion, speed and sound of the device without waking their baby. The unique computer controlled motor bounces up and down and sways from side to side like parents do with 5 unique motions: car ride, kangaroo, tree swing, rock-a-bye & wave.”

Would you recommend the 4moms mamaRoo to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this to a friend or a fellow mum. My baby suffers with colic and cries quite a lot. Having tried the 4moms mamaRoo, she settled much easier and we even managed a stress-free midday nap, which almost never happens. It's quite a large item and hard to move around, but it's so great.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product definitely makes my life easier as a mum, as it settled my baby enough for me to actually get some stuff done, for example, having a cup of tea. I don't know if I would buy one myself as they are very expensive but it's such a great product and definitely helps settle babies. It provides hands free rocking, which is a godsend.

Would you choose this product to win?

You can tell its quality and it's got great functions, I particularly love the AUX option. I have tried another swing for my baby previously and found it helped to an extent but because of the limited functions it didn't soothe for long, and I would have to go in and physically go to the swing to change the settings.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about this product it would be the price. It's extremely expensive for the mainstream market. I wouldn't have been able to afford this item alongside a travel system, and all of the other things I purchased for the baby.

Would you recommend the 4moms mamaRoo to other mums?

I used this when I was looking after my friend’s son and I thought that it was absolutely incredible. I'm not overly confident with babies but it was really easy to put him down in the 4moms mamaRoo and it was so soft and comfortable. I wish I was small enough to fit in it (you should think about making one for adults!).

How did this product make your life easier?

I was confident that baby was secure in it, which is especially important now that he is pulling himself up and moving around a bit more. He seemed to enjoy sitting in it whereas with the other baby seat he wasn't too keen to be put in that, probably because the mamaRoo is so soft and it looks like it has a really comfortable position.

I like the colourful plush toys that hang over, and that he can have one in his hand and play with the others. The different settings were amazing, my personal favourite being the kangaroo. I also liked the different speed settings which I could play around with from my phone!! I also really liked the plug-in music function, I thought that was really handy, especially to play nursery rhymes!

What changes would you make to this product?

I found it quite tricky/heavy to move, so some wheels on the back so you could wheel it when its lifted up would be really good, in case you want to move it around in the room. I think it costs quite a lot, although I wasn't surprised that it was this price and I would definitely buy one. I did wonder how hard the fabric would be to wash as I think with the grey colour it would be easily stained.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product was really easy to put together and the seat was really soft and comfy, the motions that the rocker makes are really natural and babies absolutely love it - I wish there was a bigger version for adults!! I also really like the variety of sounds and settings in terms of speed and volume.

How did this product make your life easier?

It is great being able to put the baby down to have a rest or be able to get some jobs done around the house. I've found that with other rockers/ baby seats, he gets frustrated very quickly but the soothing motions of the muma roos seem to keep him calm and occupied which means time to catch up on some house work or have a cup of tea and a ten minute rest!

Would you choose this product to win?

Very soft and comfortable. Very easy to use, and not at all complicated for those that are less technically savvy. Looks really good and no need for batteries. Baby likes the motions and the sounds the rocker makes. The movements are quite natural and smooth so this tends to sooth the baby and makes it easier to keep them asleep at nap time.

What changes would you make to this product?

It is quite bulky and so it is quite difficult to store in the house and difficult to transport, you would definitely only buy this product to keep in one place. It is also quite pricey and although I do think that it is value for money, it restricts the people who aren't able to afford such a cost.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This product looks really stylish and modern. It was easy to put up and feels really durable and good quality. The seat liner is a soft fabric which can be detached to wash. The seat angle can be adjusted so that it can be more upright as the baby gets older. The mobile balls are fascinating for baby too. I also downloaded the phone app which lets you control it!

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

This item is great to sit baby in and keeps them entertained. The motion also soothed my baby to sleep. It's a real help to know I have something that I can put my baby in which is safe to leave him and go to do something around the house.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

For me personally it is a little bit big - the base takes up quite a lot of room - this is the only down side for me.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

It was easy to use and easy to assemble.  Baby was happy to be in the Mamaroo when she was quite small and looked comfortable when using it and seemed to enjoy herself.  There were a number of different movements that the Mamaroo performed, although essentially they were all very similar.  It was quite noisy though, to the extent that the white noise ‘sound effects’ were pretty much drowned out by the noise of the motor, making them pretty much unnecessary! I wouldn’t choose it - it is very expensive for what it is, bulky and not attractive to look at.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

When baby was small it was useful, but it wasn’t long before she was less happy to be in it, not an awful lot to entertain her when she was more aware of her surroundings – we have a very simple Fisher Price bouncer seat which in all honesty offers more entertainment for the baby at a fraction of the cost and is nowhere near as bulky.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I would make it quieter if possible, the noise of the motor was quite annoying.

4moms mamaRoo baby rocker is a super-suave, ultra modern, unique bouncing chairthat boasts an array of movement options. It’s easy to set up and the covers can be removed for washing. The included toy balls are great, with reversible sides – black and white for newborns and lovely, vibrant colours for older babies.

The chair has fabulous sound functionality, including built-in nature sounds and an iPhone option for additional music. It has five motion settings (all versions of swaying and bouncing) that can be implemented at changeable speeds.

The rocker is secure and stylish, and there’s nothing else quite like it but the ‘wow factor’ does not preclude the fact that it’s big and bulky, and has to be plugged in to use, which can be limiting. It’s also expensive...and yet worth the money if you can afford it!
