How did this product make your life easier?

Beth: This car seat is very simple in construction and design, and because of that it is very straightforward to use... unlike some car seats. It doesn’t take a Ph.D. in engineering to be able to install! As a car seat there are no surprises, what you see is what you get. I didn’t really have to refer to the instructions in any way before putting the seat in the car, or for strapping my child in as it is all very intuitive. It is also really light, which is so welcome, particularly if you have to regularly move the seat between cars, or carry any distance between the house and car.

Claire: The Maxi-Cosi Kore is a fantastic car seat that is forward-facing. I felt extremely confident that my child was completely safe and secure in this car seat. The buckles were easy to use in a hurry with a squirming child. Easy to release and reconnect and tighten when required. The instruction manual was easy to follow and the Isofix function made installation into my car extremely easy. The tether at the rear of the seat also allowed for further secure fitting and again I was safe in the knowledge this seat was correctly fitted and safe for my child. The Isofix fastening also allowed for easy movement and switching between two vehicles. Although we had no spillages when using the seat, I could see that all the surface padding could be removed and washed if required without too much fuss. The sides of the seat were also a good height that I didn’t have to raise my child too high over then to get her into the seat as I have had to do in previous seats of other brands. I felt the seat and fastenings were all very easy to use and made my life easier.

Dannielle: This Maxi-Cosi Kore car seat is really nice and light, making it easy to move around hen putting it in the car or indeed taking it out. However, whilst it is light there is no obvious carry handles so this makes it a little clumsy to maneuver; a handle on the back would have been very welcome! Otherwise, it is made of a nice material and I found the height of the seat back quick and easy to adjust. The design is simple and straight forward making it easy to use without having to consult the instruction booklet.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Holly: Yes I definitely would recommend as because it is an amazing well-known brand known not to skimp on the details and safety and for this the name itself carries it. The Maxi-Cosi Kore seat is very safe my daughter always looked comfortable and didn't want her old car seat back so that was a big sign. The ease of use to out it into an Isofix was effortless so transporting in between cars would be ideal (even if it was a bit heavy this isn't any surprise when it needs to save lives so this was no issue to me).

Anna: Yes I would recommend it to anyone who needs to fit lots of children into one car as it is quite streamlined and easy to get next to a booster seat, I still had some room to get my hand in to fasten everyone up which is hard to come by with a lot of car seats due to their width. Very easy to use also.

Carly: I’d recommend this product to a fellow parent because of its sleek design. If you have a car with not much seat space this seat is for you. The car seat didn’t take up loads of room in the car we have 3 other children who have to fit next to car seats etc and they still had lots of room while sat between this and the baby carrier.

Would you choose this product to win?

Eilidh: I would not choose this product above all others on the market. I did not like the mechanism to adjust the straps. It took me a while to work out I had to press a button before I could loosen them as the button is hidden. This also means you have to loosen the straps with one hand which is quite difficult when you are also trying to restrain a wriggly toddler. The seat was also very heavy and difficult to install. I currently have a maxi cosy which has an Isofix base and this is much simpler and easy to use (clips into the base and can use both hands to loosen the straps.)

Christine: I liked this car seat for the ability to swap it easily between cars, although it was quite difficult to get it to clip into the Isofix compared to the seat I normally use. Eventually, I had to admit defeat and ask my husband to fix it, which isn’t ideal as I use my car for work and need to be able to get the car seat in and out often. For this reason, and with the cost of the car seat being higher than comparable car seats, I would not choose it.

Carly: I didn’t feel like this car seat was as sturdy and safe as the other car seat that we tested. However, my daughter definitely didn’t get as hot and sweaty sat in this one or feel as restricted. With that in mind, I would say that this seat is a good all-rounder and I really liked the sleek design. It fitted well in the car and left space for the other children.

What changes would you make to this product?

Dannielle: The Isofix fixings adjust separately which is clunky. I found them really hard to use and to get them to extend out of the seat which in truth I had to get reinforcements to help me do this! This was particularly tricky when they were pushed all the way into the seat and it was a real effort to re-extend them. This is a big issue as the installation is a critical part of owning and using a car seat, and I honestly don't want to be wrestling with a seat every time I put it in an out of the car.

Caroline: I could not suggest any improvements to this car seat. The only barrier to my not buying this for my own children would be the price. We bought four car seats for them for two-car and this would simply have been too expensive. However, had I tested it before and realised how easy it was to get in and out I would have no qualms in only buying two and switching between cars.

Anna: If I could change one thing about this product I would make it a little cheaper but I would also add some sides to the seat to make it seem more secure and safe. Other than that, I cannot fault the seat in any other way. My child liked it and felt very comfortable in the seat. That was the main benefit for me.
