Can my baby wear their jacket in the car?
While it may not be as thick as a winter coat, you should still keep layers to a minimum in the car.
Too much padding between your baby and their car seat strap could run the risk of making their car seat less safe as it stops the strap from being secured tightly enough.
If you are worried about the car being too cold, the NCT instead suggests laying a blanket over them, though you should bear in mind that cars will warm up quickly so they may not need the blanket for very long.
If you're not sure if your baby is warm enough or are worried they are too hot, check their tummy as this is a much better indicator than their hands to test temperature.
