Chicco's Next2Me Magic crib is a baby cot that allows your baby to sleep safely while close to you in the night. The bedside crib is advanced side-to-side, easy to use, will make the late-night feeds and soothing your little one in the night much easier for any parent.

How did this product make your life easier?

Rebecca Croxford: "I would recommend this product for a number of reasons but the main one being that it is big enough that it will last any baby for at least the first 6month in a parents room which means you don’t need to have a big bulky cot in your room when they become to big for the moses basket. Its was also easier to get baby in and out for night feeds. The added features of the being able to tilt it or rock it was great to have if you needed it."

Charlotte Deakin says: "This product makes life easier as a mum because the mesh panel on the side is extended and so you can see baby easily from the other side of the room. However, this has sometimes caused a distraction as baby can see the mirrored wardrobe through the side of the next 2 me and sometimes hasn’t settled as quickly as she has done in our other next 2 me crib that only has a small mesh panel at the top. The ease of lifting the side panel up and down is really good."

Hannah Edwards says: "This product makes life easier as a mum because the mesh panel on the side is extended and so you can see baby easily from the other side of the room.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Melissa Erskine says: "Yes I would recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum. The building of the crib was easy and is very easy to put in the travel bag which is provided for traveling. The design is simple but looks very clean and fresh and mesh sides is good for air flow into the crib. My little one seems to be comfy in the crib and the mattress is of good quality and fits right into the sides for safety. The mattress and the fabric around the crib is very easy wipe clean if an accident does occur."

Amy Williams says: "I used a Chicco Next2Me side sleeping cot for my first baby so was really excited to try out the latest version. There are not that many differences between the Dream and Magic but the Magic somehow looks sturdier and more spacious as well as having a better overall appearance. The Chicco Next2Me Magic was really quick and easy to assemble and dismantle. For this reason, we also used it as a travel cot so my newborn could continue to get used to his new sleeping environment while we were away. It comes with a travel bag which everything fits into nicely and means you don’t need to buy a travel cot immediately if you happen to be going away. It has some great features such as the ability to incline and rock and also has 11 height levels which means it fits against pretty much any bed. One bed we slept in while we were away was really high but this is not a problem if you have the Magic."

Rebecca Croxford says: "Having the Next 2 Me magic meant we’ve been able to keep Cooper in our room without having to set up the big cot bed in our room as by about 12 weeks he didn’t have much room in his moses basket anymore but I really didn’t want to have to take the cot apart and rebuild it in our room and them have to do the same when he was ready to go in to his own room. Having a side that lowers was also a life saver as he would regularly become unsettled at night but could be re-settled by just a hand on his chest which I could easily do with having to get fully up myself. It was also really easy to see what he was up to in the night when he was having a shift about or making noises and because of the mesh panels I wasn’t worried when he would wiggle himself right up to the side. All of these things have meant more sleep for mama which is one of best things a product can offer in my books."

Would you choose this product to win?

Charlotte Deakin says: "We are fairly cost sensitive and we feel that the cost of this next 2 me is not justified, as we bought a significantly cheaper model from another retailer and it does the job perfectly. Although it does not have the rock function, the other features are very similar to this next to me, although it was almost a third of the price of this next 2 me crib. This next 2 me crib does use nice materials though with a good sized mattress and netting on the side to see your little one, whilst the product is very sturdy when it stands on the floor."

Hannah Edwards says: "It would be great if this product was a stand out crib. I would reccomend and choose this above all other for the whole package. Design, style, safety and mainly for giving me those extra precious hours of sleep! And as well as making baby happy. I think it stands out because it's known for quality and Chicco is a brand you can trust I feel."

Melissa Erskine says: "Yes I would choose this product 100 times over other cribs that we have tried and deserves to win. Chicco wasn't a brand I would of really picked before but now I'm looking into their other products that they have. The easy transportation, the rocking motion, the easy access to your baby with the click of a button to pull the side down."

What changes would you make to this product?

Amy Williams says: "I know it’s probably there for safety reasons and is a very small detail, but there is a big label on the inside of the cot which gets in the way a bit and I wondered if it could have been put elsewhere- perhaps underneath? It detracts from the appearance of the cot and as babies get bigger, I imagine they may start to play with it and pull on it. Apart from that, I can’t fault the Chicco Next2Me Magic cot."

Rebecca Croxford says: "There are 2 things that could be improved to the next 2 me magic. The first is that when you are moving the side up and down it is not a very smooth mechanism and after placing Cooper in the crib when he has fallen to sleep on me, he would often be woken by me put the side back up. The other thing was that even when the rocking function is not in use, it would still move slightly and this would mean that when Cooper was wriggling, the crib would rock to one side and this would encourage him to wriggle on to side of the crib and leave me concerned about how well he could breathe or his arm or leg getting stuck down the side."

Charlotte Deakin says: "The things we would change about this product are either a smaller mesh panel on the side that doesn’t go up and down (but we do like the fact that you can see through the larger mesh panel on the other side!), and more written instructions to accompany the pictures. A link to an online video might also be helpful for people putting it together for the first time."
