As a mum finding the best breast pump for you is a must. With six different adjustable settings in each of the two phases, Lansinoh has designed this single electric breast pump to be small, but comfortable. Using the same technology as their gold award-winning Lansinoh 2in1 Double Electric Breast Pump for gentle expressing, the digital display is also a super handy feature worth mentioning. It can be tricky working out how to reassemble, so keep the instructions to hand.

Helping you express your precious breast milk both efficiently and discreetly, this electric breast pump is lightweight and you can either plug it into the electrical mains whilst at home, or you can insert batteries when you are on the move.

Incorporating the very latest two-phase technology, the pump has six different suction levels that imitate your baby’s natural sucking action. The ‘let down’ phase produces a rapid suction action which stimulates milk flow, while the ‘expression’ phase has different settings enabling you to tailor the suction for your own comfort. The system also features an LED light-up display, allowing you to express in low light conditions. Lansinoh guarantees that the innovative closed pump system will not let any milk enter the tubing.

Pros

  • Easy to clean and sterilise

Testing the Lansinoh single breast pump

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Hannah: I would recommend this product to other breastfeeding mums for a number of reasons. Firstly, I really like how the power cord and rubber suction tube are of a good length. This enables you to tend to your baby's needs if they happen to be in more than arm’s reach away from you. The pump is extremely easy to clean and sterilise, making me feel at ease when using it to pump milk and feed to my baby. The light display is very useful and enables you to immediately see what suction speed the pump is working at. The breast pump is also good value for money as it comes with additional attributes including a complete bottle, a sealing disk, a bottle holder and a few breastmilk bags.

Victoria: I would recommend it to a mum because of the size as it is so easy to store. The design is nice and simple, especially for first time mums who haven't used a pump before. The price is affordable compared to many competitors and the cleaning of the product is simple. This product is also quick and easy to put together.

Amber: I would recommend this product because it is comfortable, great sucking skills and it is fast! It is easy to use and easy to clean, and because it can be battery operated it’s amazing for a holiday. I would recommend this, especially to first time mums who want to breastfeed, due to how simple it is to use and how small and easy it is to store away and clean.

How did this product make your life easier?

Hannah: The product has enabled me to successfully express milk which then can be fed to my baby when I have to be apart from him. The long wire and suction tube also makes it easier to move around when expressing if needed. My son only takes milk from Lansinoh bottles so the fact that the pump connects to the Lansinoh bottles makes life a lot easier, as I can use the bottle for expressing, storing and feeding

Victoria: This product makes my life so much easier! As I’ve returned to work, I am expressing every day to have extra supply. I have used a non-electric breast pump before but this is just so easy to use and easy to store. The sound isn't too loud so doesn't cause too much disruption when baby is asleep in the room, or when my husband is trying to watch television.

Amber: This product makes my life easier as a mum as I can express a whole bottle of milk in five to ten minutes. It’s so simple to use and very easy to clean, which saves time especially with a crawling baby. It is so quick and easy to set up - takes next to no time to start expressing. Life is also easier because the pump is so compact that I can feed on one side and express on the other as it’s so lightweight.

Would you choose this product to win?

Hannah: Although I do like using the breast pump and find it works effectively, there are other breast pumps on the market which I prefer, so therefore I don't think this one should be the winner. However, the one thing that I prefer about this breast pump is how it has the ‘light function’, which is a quick visual way of seeing which speed setting the pump is working at. When putting the pump together, I was able to suitably follow the instructions, however, the diagrams are slightly blurry which made it slightly difficult to name and identify the individual parts of the pump. I also think the breast pump is made up of a lot of pieces, initially making it difficult to remember how to put it together. Also, I found it was a lot bulkier and noisier than other breast pumps and also there is no travel bag for taking it away with you.

Victoria: I think this product should win as the main selling point is that it is easy to put together and not too noisy. It cups around the nipple securely compared to other pumps and my daughter enjoyed feeding from the bottle and was comfortable with the teat. The bottle also fits in holder nicely – it’s everything you need to express.

Amber: I would choose this product over any others I've tried due to the suction force and the fact it’s the quickest I've used that has been in a decent price range. I would choose it to win also due to the fact it’s easy to clean and store away. I also love the fact it has six settings so you can adjust it to your comfort.

What changes would you make to this product?

Hannah: If I could change one thing about the breast pump it would probably be to make it quieter whilst it is performing at its maximum speed. The breast pump makes a lot more noise than the other breast pumps that I have used. I would be very reluctant to use it in the same room as my sleeping baby as it would probably wake them.

Victoria: One thing I would change would be the size of the tubes. I find them very hard to clean as they are small and I feel that if they were slightly wider it would be easier to clean or remove any air bubbles. It is nice that the tubes aren't bulky, but I find cleaning them very difficult.

Amber: I would change the suction cup that goes over the nipple to come in different sizes, luckily, I have large boobs so it's comfortable, but some ladies have smaller boobs and the cup would cover the whole of their boobs. Maybe give an option upon purchase of small, medium or large?
