At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers though this caffeine and sugar-free tea was a godsend, all of them finding it boost their milk supply. The herbal flavour might be an acquired taste, but if you’re struggling with your breast milk supply, this is a simple, natural solution.

What they say:

“Our multi-award winning organic Nursing Tea is a special blend of organic herbs that will bring comfort to breastfeeding mothers. It has been created especially for those times when mums milk just does not seem to be enough. It combines powerful galactagogues herbs such as fenugreek seeds and fennel. The natural sweetness from aniseed and caraway will also support a breastfeeding experience that flows smoothly. From the moment it is inhaled, you will feel at ease as you enjoy the aroma before tasting this delicious tea. Mountain grown verbena completes the experience bringing you a breastfeeding beverage that is sugar and caffeine free. Besides having a very pleasant taste our nursing tea is also recommended by midwives and lactation consultants across the UK.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to any mum who is looking to boost their supply. It didn't seem to make much difference to myself, however I have heard that others have seen a definite difference. The teabags are great to pop in your bag and take out with you as you only need to add hot water and they are nice and warming on a cold day. They would make a great baby shower or new mum gift too!

How did this product make your life easier?

I don’t think the tea made much of a difference for me but it did encourage me to make sure I was drinking more. This tea is easy to make, which is great with a young baby as it doesn't take up much time. The box is crammed full so it’s great value for money! This was a great smelling, caffeine-free herbal tea which was lovely and sweet.

Would you choose this product to win?

Potentially. This product is really good value for the number of teabags you get in one box. They were great for encouraging me to drink more (the recommended amount is a minimum of four cups per day), however, I personally didn’t love the taste.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would look at changing would be the flavour, it was quite strong for me.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product because it worked for me. My son had oral thrush for the first two to eight weeks of his life and we were passing it back and forth from his mouth to my breasts. The thrush not only caused me pain but it also reduced my milk supply. I started drinking this tea as instructed on the box and, within a few days, my milk supply was increasing! I was soon back to my usual, healthy amount. I found the taste nice and refreshing.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product made a massive difference to me and my son, thank you Neuners! I had a really low milk supply throughout our period of thrush and this tea helped so much.

Would you choose this product to win?

Although I haven't tried any other nursing teas, I would still buy this one again as it worked for me really well and I liked the flavour. I like the individually wrapped packets, as I could just throw them in my bag when going out and about.

What changes would you make to this product?

I honestly wouldn't change anything about this product!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this tea, I saw a difference after just a few cups. I am drinking at least one cup every day and love the fact that it is caffeine and sugar free. The flavour is so calming. This is an award-winning nursing tea that I can trust and I really like it.

How did this product make your life easier?

My baby is seven-weeks-old now. When he was first born I exclusively breastfeed, but had to switch to formula as he started to become quite unsettled at one point. Now that I’m drinking this tea, it’s so nice to see that my breast milk is enough again, he loves the taste and is very happy!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, this tea has a very pleasant taste and the first smell that comes across is Aniseed. It is recommended by midwives too which makes me trust the brand.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think this tea is great value for money, using high quality ingredients. Nothing to change!

Tested by mum Lauren Scammell for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes! This tea increased my milk supply so much! I was able to pump several ounces of milk after drinking the tea, meaning that my poor nipples could have a rest as I could express so much milk into a bottle.

How did this product make your life easier?

I had been thinking about boosting my supply so I could express milk and give breastfeeding a rest sometimes. This tea has worked so well at stimulating expression and my life is now easier as my son can be bottle fed by my partner or friends, giving me some much needed me time.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this tea over other products because of how easy it is to incorporate it into your lifestyle. All you need is to add hot water and you can carry the sachets around in your bag as well. Before drinking this tea, I wasn’t pumping a sufficient amount of milk but now there is more than enough. I also love how simple and classy the packaging is! It says what it does in few words, it’s very minimalist which is appealing.

What changes would you make to this product?

I do think the aniseed flavour is very strong, so I would suggest that the brand could potentially balance out the flavours more, allowing the other ingredients to come through.

Tested by mum Emma O’Neill for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would be happy to recommend this tea, as it is a product that actually works. If there is something as simple as drinking a cup of tea that can help a mother breastfeed her child, then it should be recommended to all!

How did this product make your life easier?

I had read about the benefits of drinking herbal teas throughout pregnancy but was not aware that there was a tea that could enhance milk supply. I tried this tea and although I wasn't keen on the flavour at first, there was no doubt that after only a few days, it had a positive effect on my milk supply.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes. This particular product is from a reputable brand that has been making herbal teas for a long time. They are organic and each bag is individually wrapped to keep the tea fresh. The design, packaging and description on the box are all excellent too.

What changes would you make to this product?

In all honesty, the flavour is an acquired taste but I did find it soothing. This particular issue would not hinder me from recommending the tea as it really does stimulate milk supply, which is amazing.
