Trying to find the best breast pump to suit you and your needs can end up being a bit of a tricky, especially with so much choice on the market. However it's worth doing the research, because a good breast pump can make a huge difference to create a supply of breastmilk or help pump the last few ounces after feeds – this is where a double breast pump can be all the more useful.

The Nuby UK Double Digital Electric Breast pump is super handy, with a timer feature to time how long you’ve been expressing and a digital touch screen. Made of silicone this pump is also soft and comfortable, plus there’s a super long lead, meaning you don’t have to fix yourself next to a plug.

Our panel of mum testers love the range of settings available on this electric pump, as it made the experience more personal, allowing you to choose your own speed and the strength of suction.

Testing the Nuby UK Double Digital Electric Breast Pump

What our parent testers thought of the Nuby UK Double Digital Electric Breast Pump...

We asked some of our parent testers for their thoughts and this is how they got on with the Nuby Digital Electric Breast Pump:

Flora: In the early days of breastfeeding I did not have a pump and was regularly having to hand express to relieve engorgement. An electric pump made this so much easier and quicker and the pump has adjustable settings so I did not find it at all uncomfortable. The pump has also been great to express milk to store.

Harriet: This product makes my life easier as it’s a really efficient breast pump but requires minimal effort on my part. Once the pump is set up you just have to hold it on and press go. It’s super easy to control speed and function. It also automatically switches from stimulation to expression if you haven’t done so after a few minutes. The timer is great as you can easily keep track of how long you’ve been expressing. It’s also convenient you can use the pump via mains power or battery.

Samantha: This product is a lifesaver and has been a much-appreciated addition to my baby feeding items. As a mother of three, I have tried many pumps and this one is one of the best. It is easy to use, portable as it can go cordless once the unit is charged, it is easy to clean as it doesn’t have many separate parts. I am able to express really good amounts each time and it is not painful.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Louise: I would absolutely say that if you were looking to combi feed your baby that this is a good way to start- we waited too long to introduce our baby to a bottle, but I pump in order to use breast milk in her meals that we really making on our weaning journey. For mums who want a value for money product that is easy to use, easy to clean and effective... you couldn't ask for more really.

Kelly: I would recommend this product as it’s very easy to use and is very powerful which is what I want from a breast pump. A lot on the market I have used previously I have struggled to get milk flowing but this one is amazing. I love the modern design of this product. This pump is very quiet which is great if you have a sleeping baby nearby or want to be discreet. It’s BPA free. Can be used with the battery or plugged in so it’s easy to move around.

Sukhjeevan: I would recommend this product as I think the double pump is a time saver. My favourite part was the digital screen as everyone was easy to see, especially how long I had been pumping for rather than relying on memory. It was very easy to use and understand all the different buttons and was able to use them very easily. It was very handy that you can charge the base so you don't have to stay right next to a plug socket

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Samantha: I think this product should win this category as it is very well thought out, makes the milk expressing process very easy and stress less. It is lightweight and portable, powerful as well. It can help express large amounts of milk very quickly and very helpfully. Has a timer. I love the digital display and the unit has a long battery span.

Sukhjeevan: The reason this pump appeals to me more than my previous pump or others on the market is the digital base screen. With one single glance, I could see how long I had been pumping for, the battery of the unit remaining, whether I was expressing or on the letdown bit and which speed. And all the above information is on a small sleek screen

Joanna: I loved the Nuby Double Electric Breast Pump, having used a single pump previously this really saves time. The pump is quite bulky compared to others on the market and not as discreet to use on the go, it would be great if it came with a travel pouch or case. I love that the pump doesn’t need to be plugged in and has a three-hour battery life and for the price, it’s a great product.

What changes would you make to this product?

Kelly: I love this product and found it difficult to find anything to change about it. The only thing I could think of was the size of the machine as it could seem a little bulky in size. There was also only one size of the cup with this product so if you have bigger nipples you may struggle with the size and getting the right comfort level.

Samantha: There is not much I would change about this great product. I would provide a hygienic carrying bag for the pump as, because of the wires and the pump bottles, it can be a bit awkward to carry. I would also provide handles for the bottles to make them easier to hold to the breast. Otherwise, it really is a great product.

Louise: I would suggest the pump unit be made slightly smaller- while the design is sleek and modern, it's also a little bulky. As a double design, it generally works very well, and the instructions are clear and concise. Let's be fair, there's little glamour to pumping, but the Nûby pump does give it a good go- and the functionality more than makes up for the size of the unit.
