Bambo Nature eco-friendly baby nappies at a glance:

Bambo Nature nappies are soft, comfortable, and keep even the most sensitive skin dry. The nappies are designed with a super-absorbent core including the latest channel technology that leads moisture away from baby's skin and holds up to multiple wettings - even overnight. The convenient wetness indicator changes colour and makes it easy to see when a change is needed. The flexible waistband and latex-free leg cuffs help the nappy stay in place for baby's comfort and freedom of movement.

We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Amy: The nappy fits my son well, appears to be comfortable for him and we haven't experienced any leaks whatsoever whilst using the nappies, even overnight where he will usually sleep for around 12 hours. Most other nappies don't tend to have a wetness indicator on when you reach the larger sizes (we tested size 5) so it's great to have the indicator so we can see for definite if the nappy is wet or not.

Carol: Easy to use, sticky tabs stay sticky and fit well to my baby’s hips and bum. Very easy to open the pack and get a nappy out, and also to store the rest of the pack.

Corinne: These nappies really do look and feel great. The design is lovely and not over-powering. They are easy to put on. We have had no leaks; the design shows when baby has passed urine and so you can see how full the nappy is; which as a mum makes my life so much easier. The fit is great and has lots of room (we had a size 4) but not roomy enough to leak which was fantastic. We love that these are also eco friendly.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Faye: I would wholeheartedly recommend the nappy and brand to other mums and will be doing so. The nappy was the same, or even better than other leading brands and it managed to last, even with a wriggly and active toddler wearing it. My toddler said it felt nice and she had no red marks or nappy rash after wearing it, even after several hours of use. I felt that I was helping the environment by not using a standard nappy, as these are better for the environment. I wouldn't hesitate in making the switch to this brand. It was very easy for me to put the nappy on my toddler and remove it when required. It was also really obvious which side was the front and which was the back and the sizing was clearly labelled.

Heather: We loved that the nappies were kind to our baby’s sensitive skin and would definitely recommend them to other parents. Nappy rash is something that we believed was par for the course in all babies, however, when changing to ‘eco’ brands we noticed a big difference, particularly with these nappies. The designs probably aren’t as pretty as other brands, but it’s not a game-changer. We’d much prefer our baby to be comfortable. That being said, the designs served their purpose as they did help when you’re tired and want to put them on the correct way round.

Helen: Yes, I would recommend this product for the actual nappy and design but not for its price as I feel that it is quite expensive for the number of nappies that you get in the pack. It has no added perfumes or chemicals in it and therefore reduces the risk of nappy rash or allergies and has an asthma allergy certification. It is eco-friendly and is made using eco-friendly manufacturing processes. Its absorbent channels and leak protectors are great as they withstand a large amount of urine and does not leak and therefore lasts overnight. It is soft and thin. It has a great, cute little design on the front and the wetness indicator is such a big help in checking to see if the nappy needs changing.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Naomi: I think for a disposable nappy this should win as it worked as well if not better than other disposables I have used, felt nice and soft, no leaks and is eco friendly. The indicator is also a real benefit when you might not be used to disposables as I am just used to changing cloth ones regularly but this gave me an idea of when to change.

Victoria: No - there was no difference for me as a Mum for my baby; I’m lucky that she has no skin difficulties and therefore I use a supermarket brand of nappies which are much cheaper than this brand and have similar features. The only benefit of the nappy is the “eco-friendly” status.

Carol: I like that they are eco friendly but disposable nappies – they are very convenient but I also feel that I am helping the environment. If they were more widely available in supermarkets, I would be more tempted to reach for them rather than other well-known brands.

What changes would you make to this product?

Corinne: The only thing I can think of is that these nappies are a lot more costly than other brands, more so supermarket own brands. However, I do understand that with the eco-friendly element you will be paying that bit more but can see that this would put some parents off. I am not sure if these are available in nappy pants but that would be a great option especially in the bigger sizes.

Corrie: If I could change one thing, it would be either the side hip tabs (make them longer) so I have more to hold whilst tabbing down the nappy or I would change the design to make it easier to recognise the back when opening the nappy preoccupied. Possibly a little colour on the back or the front. I know the hedgehog is large but my hand would often cover it and I would then be frustrated as my wriggly babe would now be trying to stand.

Faye: I don't think there is anything that the company or brand could do to improve the product. The product (the nappy) did exactly what it should do and what I expected it to do. I could put it on my wriggly and active toddler with ease and I felt confident that it was going to hold everything in during the day and night. It even absorbed enough urine during the night time and we didn't have any leaks or accidents with them during the time we were testing them. It would be good if the brand could make a variety of nappies, including pull up style ones. It would be good if the nappies had a variety of characters on them too, to reflect the eco brand.
