Ickle Bubba Finest Mattress at a glance:

Ickle Bubba's Finest Mattress is layered to perfection and benefits from a dual-core design - with a firmer surface, ideal for a newborn on one side, and a more cushioned toddler-friendly mattress surface on the reverse. To help regulate body temperature, the clever Coolmax performance fabric acts as a two-season cover; air circulation is improved and humidity reduced for the summer months, while it is also quilted for warmth during the winter.

To keep your children's mattress protected and fresh, it also includes a removable washable zipped cover. This mattress also squeezes in 220 individual pocket springs offering great support for bubba.

How did this product make your life easier?

Charlotte Deakin said: "This mattress definitely makes life easier as a mum because of the removable washable cover. It is so easy to zip off, wash and put back on again when we've had those nights with a few mishaps! We still use a mattress protector on top but this is an extra layer for protection. The cover washed really well and dried easily, saving time and worry about getting the mattress ready for the next night's sleep."

Melissa said: "The Ickle Bubba Finest Mattress is a comfortable, good quality mattress that my little boy appeared to sleep very well on. He was settled and comfortable, but I can't say I did anything better or quicker by using this mattress over our previous one. When asked if he liked it, he said it was comfy to sleep on."

Hollie said: "My son has slept through the night since he had this mattress! The mattress is lovely and soft which was a surprise as our other mattress was quite firm but our son seems to love how comfy it is. He loves spending time in his cot with this mattress awake or asleep!"

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Abigail said: "I would recommend this product to a friend purely for the fact that the mattress has a removable washable zip cover. This is a godsend with babies and toddlers! We have already had a nappy leak during the night and I was easily able to unzip the cover and wash which meant the mattress was stain free. I also love that the mattress is made with ‘Coolmax performance fabric’, which means that it keeps the baby cooler in the summer and snuggly in winter. As parents, we worry about our children all the time, especially when sleeping, so I think this gives such peace of mind."

Nicola said: "I would recommend this mattress to friends. It has the appearance of a very well made product and we have no concerns with the quality of this product. We have used it as a second mattress when we've needed to co-sleep on the floor during illnesses and it seemed comfortable and the zip-off feature comes away very easily and goes back on again simply which has been very useful!"

Charlotte Forscutt said: "Yes, I would happily recommend this mattress to my mum friends, for the features you get and the quality of the mattress it's worth the price tag, a little more on the expensive side but I feel it's definitely a mattress that would last your little one. I like the ability to remove the cover and wash it when required."

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Hollie said: "For me, this is the best sleep product as my son sleeps through. However, I am not sure if it's the best sleep product on the market overall as there are lots of other products that fit that bill. However, in terms of a mattress, it is great. I hadn't heard of the brand before, so would never have been introduced to it without testing, but it is definitely superior to my silver cross mattress.

Melissa said: "I personally would choose this mattress again, I like the idea of the different firmness on the different sides and would definitely consider this when purchasing a mattress for our next baby. The removable cover and temperature features also make this a really appealing option. In terms of comfort, I don't think it's any different to our current one but the enhanced features do sell it to us."

Charlotte Deakin said: "I would choose this product above others because of the washable cover and great support it gives little ones. Not only does it cater to their support needs as they grow but also has an impressive body temperature regulation aspect. Helping little one stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter is pretty smart for a mattress!"

What changes would you make to this product?

Charlotte Forscutt said: "I am being very picky here as I love the mattress, but a little pocket booklet to remind you about washing temp and the summer/winter month side, as a busy mum your brain is full of so many things that it's easy to forget the little things like this. So it would be useful to pop it in a draw to remind you when needed."

Nicola said: "This mattress was easy to move and store as it's relatively lightweight compared to some we've looked at. The zip feature works great as well. I'm unable to comment on the use of both sides as having a toddler we've only used the more cushioned surface so we don't have experience of the firmmer side for newborns."

Abigail said: "The only thing I’d change about this product would be the price. I think in the long run, you would save money by purchasing this mattress as you wouldn’t need to buy another when your newborn gets bigger but the initial payment is quite big. I wouldn’t be able to afford to buy this mattress along with everything else that a newborn baby needs but I do understand that it has so many incredible features which is why it is a little pricey."
