At a glance:

Our panel of parent testers loved the look and feel of the Hybrid Edge, commenting how easy it was to steer, even with the weight of two tots in tow. That said, it can be quite difficult to access the storage basket when using as a double buggy.

What they say:

“As the first stroller of it’s kind, the Hybrid Edge has been designed to offer parents that extra point of difference. A beautifully designed chassis with 12 position handle adjustment, the stroller features an XL extendable hood with an additional flip-out reflective sun visor and built in ventilation net. Optimising safety, the Edge integrates a car seat style one-pull padded harness, allowing parents to adjust straps effortlessly. The Edge has all-round suspension and puncture-free PU rubber tyres for an enjoyable and smooth ride.”

Would you recommend this to other dads?

I would recommend this pushchair to fellow parents because it is so versatile and sturdy. It can be used as a single or a double and you can even get an axle and smaller wheels that make the pushchair slimmer for city use. The fold is simple and easy and it has a lot of clever features designed with parents in mind, such as the bag hooks and zip pocket on the back of the seat.

How has this product made your life easier?

This is a stylish, functional pushchair that has some great additional features. The bag hooks are so useful, as is the straps tightening system, which makes the straps really easy to adjust. The insect net is also a great accessory included at no extra cost.

The versatility of the Hybrid Edge is the main reason I rate it so highly. The stand out features for me are the three different axles that help to transform the pushchair from a slimmer single to a sturdy double, that steers well and has excellent suspension. The harness is so easy to adjust and the mesh panel in the hood helps keep my little one well ventilated on hot days.

What changes would you make to this product?

There isn’t much I would change about this pushchair as it is nearly perfect, but I wish the seat would recline further so that it was able to lie my child flat. I would also make the shopping basket out of sturdier fabric, and change the straps to a thicker fabric.

Would you recommend this to other dads?

I would definitely recommend the Hybrid Edge as it is just a brilliant pushchair. It is really adaptable and strongly built and the design seems built to last. It seems comfortable and the mesh in the hood is a great idea for hot days. There are extra little details on this pushchair that make it almost perfect.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Babystyle Hybrid Edge makes my life easier as I can swap the child in the pushchair without having to fiddle for ages with the harness to ensure they are safe. The Hybrid Edge can also be easily adapted into a double pushchair that is easy to steer, which is really convenient.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would recommend this pushchair to any parent mainly because of its adaptability and the fact that it really has been built to last. I like that when the extra seat is purchased, it is a full-sized seat meaning both children are equally comfortable. The harness is a breeze to adjust and is not fiddly at all. I like that with the hood down and the footmuff on, the child is very protected from the elements whilst not feeling too enclosed. It has a simple fold which is easy to use.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is not much I would change about the Hybrid Edge! I think that I would change the fact that the axles all have to be bought separately, as I think they are part of the pushchair so they should all come together in a package.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend the Hybrid Edge to anyone! It is so easy to fold and the chassis folds down very small. It is a very cleverly designed pushchair and I love that there are three different axels that help you to adjust the width and the number of seats you can use. The seat is comfortable and is easily to clean whilst feeling sturdy and strong. It steers even easier with more weight on it and the suspension is effective.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Babystyle Hybrid Edge is a great pushchair – it is easy to push and steer one handed and has a comfy seat keeping baby happy. The Edge eliminates the need to buy another pushchair when you have a second child as it is easily adapted to carry two children. The car seat style harness restraint system is great, especially if you have more than one child who uses the pushchair as it means that you can put children of different sizes in and not have to fiddle around with traditional harness adjustments.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely choose this pushchair over all others in this category because it is so versatile. There are so many things I like about it! The hood extends quite a lot and is a summer and winter hood all in one, it also holds the water out of you get caught in unexpected rain whilst out without the rain cover. It also has a flap that you fold over to uncover the mesh which works really well at letting the breeze through the pushchair on hot days. I also love how it can easily be adapted from a single to a double pushchair with ease.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is not much I would change as this pushchair is pretty much perfect, but I’d like the basket fixing (on the basket itself) and the fabric to be stronger. I also think it would be great if the seat was partially foldable or flexible to make it take up less room when the pushchair is folded.

Tested by mum Jemma for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Babystyle Hybrid Edge because of its adaptability and versatility – the design is very well thought out and is built to feel sturdy and strong. The fabrics are easily wiped down or cleaned. Children are comfortable in the seat and the pushchair is easy to fold down, although the seat does take up more space than those that fold down with the pushchairs.

How has this product made your life easier?

Babystyle have thought of almost everything with the Hybrid Edge. It is a very versatile pushchair that adapts to what you need. The Hybrid Edge makes life easier as a mum by being easy to push and steer even whilst carrying extra weight. It is easy to steer and use one handed - almost all the time. The seat harness is so easy to use and is adjusted by just pressing one part of the seat and pulling the appropriate part of the straps.

Would you choose this product to win?

This seat isn't my favourite to look at, but the colours and the wheels are stylish. The seat is comfortable and I like that the pushchair steers better when the pushchair is bearing more weight. The suspension is decent and is more functional than some other pushchairs. The handle is adjustable with a good range of height options and the bag hooks on the handles are very useful.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is little about the Babystyle Hybrid Edge that I would change, but I would make the seat foldable and able to lay flat as I feel this is an important feature to have and would save having to buy a separate carrycot. I would make the basket a little larger and stronger.

Tested by mum Verity Fellows for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would, yes. I loved the extra big sun shade and the added UV protected bit that pulls out. The canopy can also be unzipped to increase the size further, meaning on sunny days I don't have to worry about the sun being directly on the baby. The seat is really generous in size and there is plenty of room for my baby to grow into, for once a pram that will actually last till he is walking! I loved the included insect net tucked away in the zip pocket, what an amazing idea!

How has this product made your life easier?

I found the pram was initially very simple to put together and was easy to get up and fold down. The handle bar across the baby can be opened with one hand, which means when I’m getting my baby into the pram, it makes life much easier. I wasn’t sure about the wheels at first, but after going on a long muddy walk, found that their solid design made them much easier to clean. I also love that the seat can be parent and world facing, giving parents the option to change their baby around as they grow.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would vote for this pushchair to win a Mother & Baby award because it is a lovely looking pram that is also functional. The pram is easy to use and has many lovely touches such as the system used to alter the straps in a number of seconds. I took the pram on some really rough terrain and found the ride was smooth and didn’t disturb my baby – I would vote for it to win gold on this alone!

What changes would you make to this product?

I couldn’t think of anything I would change about the Hybrid Edge, as all of my initial reservations proved to be incorrect. The only slight negative I can find was that the pram clips felt a little flimsy, but this wouldn’t put me off buying it.
