The Maple Pushchair from Cuggl is a super-affordable piece of kit that has previously won a Mother&Baby Gold award. Our mum testers loved the foot muff and the rain cover that are included in the price, making this an amazing bundle! Unfortunately, the Cuggl Maple Pushchair is no longer in production, but if you're thinking about buying one second hand, we've put together a thorough review of everything you need to know about this pushchair.

Testing the Cuggl Maple Pushchair

Our product recommendations are based on a combination of real-world testing from our burgeoning army of mum testers, and the extensive knowledge of our experienced editorial team and product specialists.

The Cuggl Maple Pushchair has been tested by mums Abbie Rowland, Tara Curtis, Hollie Brinkworth, Jordanne Rhoade and Kirsty Wood as part of the Mother&Baby Awards, 2018.

Mum Abbie Rowland says

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this Cuggl pushchair yes – it’s a fantastic price and everything about it is excellent. It’s very sturdy and folds easy and the three-point harness makes it suitable from birth upwards. If you are unable to afford a really expensive pram I would 100% recommend the Cuggl! It comes with a foot-muff and a rain-cover and the wheels are amazing – they have a smooth 360 turn that make the pram easy to manoeuver.

How has this product made your life easier?

Being a new mum to my second baby, who is nearly four-weeks-old, I’ve been carrying around my big Silver Cross Wayfarer everywhere I go. As much as I love this pushchair, it’s very heavy and is quite big when fitting it in our car. The size and weight of my current pushchair makes life difficult when it comes to shopping or pushing my three-year-old up a hill. This pram has made it easier for me to go shopping and walk to and from places if I’m doing short outings.

Would you choose this product to win?

Definitely, usually I wouldn’t look twice at a stroller like this, but I really was surprised at how light and easy it is to push! My daughter fell asleep instantly when sat in the pushchair, which is a sign she was comfy. I also love the fact that there is an extended hood which provides shade and protects her from the sun. What really makes this pushchair stand out from the others in this category is how well put together, sturdy and light it is for only £59.99! I do think this should win a Mother & Baby award.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about the stroller it would be the foot-muff because I feel it doesn’t have a nice shape – it would be better if it was secure at the sides and possibly put a bar across the front to help it stay up. Other than that, I feel there is genuinely nothing else I would change about the pushchair as I love it.

Mum Tara Curtis says

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to a friend or fellow mum because the pushchair is a great practical stroller that comes in a variety of colours. It is so easy to use when you have a toddler who is on the move but still needs a pushchair for when their little legs get tired! The shade and footmuff make the pushchair suitable for younger children to stay warm on cooler days and the big hood offers a lot more shade to children, which is a huge selling point of this pushchair.

How has this product made your life easier?

The pushchair is very lightweight, which is great for traveling and it folds down to fit nicely in the car boot. The front wheels are easily removable, which makes it a lot easier to get in and out of the car. All in all, this pushchair has definitely made getting out of the house with a toddler a lot quicker and easy, and as any mum will know, that is a huge plus!

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this is a great pushchair – I love the fact the hood is a lot bigger than normal strollers, and how easy it is to manoeuver. I definitely think this should win a Mother & Baby award!

What changes would you make to this product?

The one thing I would change about this product is the instructions, as I don’t think they were very clear. That said, I don’t have any faults with the pushchair as a whole – I wouldn’t change a thing!

Mum Hollie Brinkworth says

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I'd recommend this product as it not only has a nice design and comes with some very nice added extras, but it's also very comfy for little one with a padded seat and cosy toes, and has the added bonus of an extra-large hood which shades baby from the sun perfectly. It's lightweight and is compact enough to fit in the boot, still leaving room for other things. I also love the flap in the hood that allows you to check on your baby on-the-go!

How has this product made your life easier?

The pushchair is very easy to assemble, even when you’re not the best at building things. It is very easy to put up and down quickly, which makes your life easier when you’ve got two small children and you’re trying to get out the house in a hurry! It fits nicely in the boot of my car and it wipes clean well, which when you’ve got a sickly or dribbling baby is a must.

Would you choose this product to win?

I have used other pushchairs in the past and I would definitely say for the price that this is worth buying! Not only is it lightweight, padded for comfort and keeps baby out of the sun, it looks great and comes with a rain cover, foot muff and large basket. What really stands out about this product is what you get for the price, if you're on a budget you sometimes have to compromise on having certain features but with this pushchair you don't have to – it’s got everything you could need for a price that's not going to break the bank.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing it would probably be the wheels – I took this product to a few places to test and I found walking across the grass a little bit slippery, as the wheels have no grip to them. I would probably change them to have a better grip, or change them to rubber wheels as I don't think these would wear so easily and would definitely help when pushing on different surfaces.

Mum Jordanne Rhoades says

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to my friends or fellow mums because it is lightweight, a nice colour range and comes with a cosy-toes and a rain cover, making it very affordable. It's comfortable for my child who seems to sit extremely awkwardly in some prams. It's also easy to wipe down, which is a must for most mums who have messy babies!

How has this product made your life easier?

It makes my life easier as it's practical, lightweight and can support my son’s weight as well as many shopping bags. It's not large but it's not small and looks great! The design offers comfort for my son, as well as shade for the sun and a cosy-toes for the cold. Overall, happy mummy happy child!

Would you choose this product to win?

I wouldn't choose this product to win a Mother & Baby award, but I do think it should be rated very highly on the market. I've always used Silver Cross prams and buggies which are very expensive, but you pay a lot for good quality. I think this pushchair is brilliant, it's design and comfort is outstanding and it's built well for the price. It's affordable and doesn't look cheap.

What changes would you make to this product?

I don't think I would change anything about this pram – it’s great value for money, but doesn't look cheap.

Mum Kirsty Wood says

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight stroller! It’s great value for money as it comes with a cosy-toes and rain-cover. It looks good and the hood provides a good shelter from our unpredictable English weather – I tested the pushchair in the rain and it kept my little one dry and snug. The colour is lovely too!

How has this product made your life easier?

This pushchair is really easy to fold up and down. When folded, it is fairly compact which makes fitting it in the car boot easy. The cosy-toes is great, as it saves me spending ages picking up blankets that have been thrown out of the pram, or removing ones I’ve missed that are now tangled in the wheels! The storage underneath is also really handy!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would choose this to win a Mother & Baby award as I would now consider choosing the Maple Pushchair over other lightweight pushchairs on the market. It seems good value as all accessories are included, it folds down compactly, it feels nice to push and the storage compartment is adequate for a quick trip to the shops.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change is adding a little more padding on the actual seat itself, as I think it would make it more comfortable. That said, I appreciate it is a lightweight pushchair, therefore it might not be practical to have more padding.
