We're big fans of the iCandy brand and their luxe pushchairs and couldn't wait to get our hands on the seventh generation of the iCandy Peach. Bound to be loved by first-time parents, it's suitable from birth (with carrycot) up to 25kg, is crafted from modern premium knitted jersey fabrics and can be easily converted into a twin or double pushchair.

Here's how our tester mum-of-one Natalie got on with the iCandy Peach 7.{:target=_blank :rel=noreferrer noopener}

Overview of the iCandy Peach 7

• Extremely comfortable for baby to sit and sleep in, even overnight

• Generous 44 litre basket which holds up to 10kg in weight

• Handlebar is height adjustable

• Smooth suspension and very easy to push with puncture-proof tyres

• Swivel bumper bar for easy access

• Can be easily converted into a double/twin pushchair

• The frame is very heavy to carry when folded and takes up quite a bit of space when not in use

• The cup holder is difficult to reach whilst walking and makes narrow places difficult to navigate due to how much it sticks out

• The harness clip feels a bit flimsy and doesn’t always “click” first time

Key features

Suitable for overnight sleeping

The carrycot is spacious and supportive and can be used as a Moses basket/travel cot that can be used for overnight sleeping. The luxury fleece lining and knitted jersey fabrics provide comfort and warmth for your baby.

Easy to convert

The pushchair can easily be converted from single to double / twin pushchair with ease using iCandy adaptors. It also converts to a full travel system with car seat adaptors (included) and can be used in both parent and world facing modes which is ideal for a growing family. The pushchair also comes with an integrated Ride-on Board for older toddlers who are tired of walking.

Ultimate comfort

The seat provides ultimate comfort, especially when paired with the iCandy’s cocoon style footmuff and liner. The seat comes with an adjustable head support and calf rest and can be reclined in four different positions to suit your babies’ growth.

The pushchair comes with a built-in carry strap, one-handed fold-down design, swivel bumper bar and puncture-proof, ultra-smooth rolling PU tyres. The leatherette handlebar is also adjustable from 95cm to 105cm.

Testing the iCandy Peach 7

I wanted a pushchair that would be as comfortable and ergonomic as possible for my baby, that would adapt to his growth and make him feel safe. The pushchair also needed to be durable, easy to push and able to handle a variety of terrain as I mainly walk and use public transport to travel.

My 19-month-old was so excited when the iCandy Peach 7 turned up that he was trying to climb in it whilst I was building it! It arrived just in time for our family holiday, which was the perfect opportunity to test its capabilities. I took the pram on trains and buses and to forests, city centres and everything in-between. We have walked in the baking sun and pouring rain and been through mud and gravel, over cobbled streets and grass and through narrow streets and shops to see what both the pushchair and accessories could handle.

I was a bit overwhelmed when I had finally unpacked and laid out all of the contents of the two giant boxes that the Peach 7 comes in, as there are so many different parts (and frustratingly most of them individually wrapped in plastic) but after several cups of tea and a few demonstration videos later I finally got there! I was impressed with how sturdy the pushchair felt and how easy it was to push thanks to the front swivel wheels which are an absolute must for navigating out of my tiny front door. I loved how easily the changing bag attached to the handlebar and the plush cocoon style footmuff and liner which my little boy was immediately taken with and wanted to climb into right away.

As soon as it was built, we went on our first outing to the local shops and my son was having a fantastic time, thanks to the seat being positioned high up he was able to see so many things and people and loved holding on to the swivel bumper bar. I was delighted with how smoothly we went over various bumps and lumps and relieved to find that the tyres were puncture-proof, unlike my previous pushchair. We took full advantage of the spacious 44-litre basket and were able to fit our entire weekly shop under the seat without having to hang anything from the handlebar.

I have found that the Peach 7 can handle almost any terrain (although some surfaces such as gravel benefit from having the front wheels locked) and can navigate most spaces, however, if you want to use the cup holder this does cause some issues in narrower places as it sticks out from the side quite a bit. I also found that it was far too low down for me to reach whilst pushing the pram so I would have to stop each time I wanted to use it. Also, the clip that holds it in place is the same one used for the parasol so unless you purchase a second clip you can only use one or the other.

The adjustable SPF50+ canopy provides excellent coverage and has a large mesh ventilation section that doubles as a viewing window. The parasol also provides good additional protection. The rain cover does a good job of covering all of the seat, providing you have extended the canopy fully beforehand and the drainage hole in the bottom of the basket comes in very handy if you get caught in a particularly bad storm.

The few quibbles that I have aside from the cup holder are that the handlebar feels a little too wide and can hurt my hands after a while, and the harness clip feels a bit flimsy and doesn’t always “click” first time. The 12.9kg weight can be a struggle to carry at times and there is definitely a knack to folding the pram which can be quite tricky and often needs two hands.

Final thoughts

Overall, I have been very impressed with the quality of the pushchair and my baby absolutely loves going out in it. It has also been incredibly useful as a makeshift highchair in busy restaurants thanks to the seat height adaptors and a comforting bed for outdoor naps. I would definitely recommend the Peach 7, especially for parents who need to take a lot of stuff with them or those expecting another baby as it can easily accommodate a second child with the use of adaptors.
