At a glance:

Our panel of parent testers loved the Joie Mytrax pushchair, finding it easy to fold up and down with one hand and a dream to manoeuver. The only downside is the rain cover, which is a bit difficult to get on and off, but overall, a great little pushchair from a brand you can trust.

What they say:

“A tiny tour guide for any mode, on any road. One smooth infant carrier and carry cot connection and one handy must-have flash fold.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to all of my mum friends. I was considering getting another quite popular pram, but after testing this I will without a doubt be buying this one. Firstly, it is a lovely looking pram – it looks high end and expensive and has converted me to Joie as a brand. Secondly, it seems comfortable for my little one, it is super easy to push, it is lightweight for getting in and out of the boot and the hood can be unzipped to cover the whole pram, which I love. It's lovely and padded and my daughter jumped in the Mytrax when I put it up and wouldn't get out, so it definitely got her seal of approval! It is also easy to clean – everything unzips so you can put it in the wash.

How has this product made your life easier?

The Mytrax makes my life easier as a mum as it is lightweight, easy to push and super easy to fold away and store. It is very quick and easy to pull the clip to unfold the pushchair, and there is plenty of storage space underneath for the changing bag and shopping. It is lovely and smooth to push and goes around corners nice and easy. Most importantly, my daughter loves it and I can see she is much more comfortable in it than other prams I have had in the past. In terms of making my life easier, I find getting in and out of the car is much quicker and easier, as it is easy to unfold and light to manoeuvre – I no longer dread using the pushchair! Finally, the rain cover is very easy to put on and tie down, so no standing there fiddling about while your baby is getting soaked.

I think this product should win a Mother & Baby award without a doubt. Having tested it, I would definitely choose this product over others on the market. There are so many things about the Mytrax that stand out to me, and even my husband loves pushing it as it’s just so easy to use. When I first saw the price (after testing it) I couldn't believe it, it’s such an amazing piece of kit for such an affordable price. It is genuinely like a dream to push and I cannot find one single fault in the Mytrax.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only improvement I can think of is the cup holder, which needs to be a little bigger as my toddlers cup fell out a few times when we went over bumps!

When this product first arrived, I thought it was going to, like lots of other pushchairs, take a life time and a full tool box to put together, but after removing the packaging this seemed very straight forward. In five minutes (and only having to refer to the manual to find out where the cup holder went) I had the pushchair built and ready to go. I really liked the sleek design and the unisex colours. It was very lightweight and easy to manoeuver and lifting the Mytrex in and out of the car was so straightforward and simple – you just grab the handle from below the seat and with very little upward pull, it folds neatly and securely for the boot of the car. Overall, I was very impressed.

How has this product made your life easier?

As a parent, it made my trip shopping a much smoother operation, as my child seemed very comfortable in his seat, his seated position giving him a much better view, which in turn kept him distracted and entertained. Ticking all these boxes, the pushchair meant I didn’t need to keep stopping to entertain my tot whilst shopping. I was also able to push the Mytrex one handed whilst carrying a shopping basket with minimal effort.

To me, the Joie Mytrax is a hands down winner compared to any pushchair I have ever used in the past. It’s like the designers built it with parents in mind – they have thought of everything, it had style, ease of use, comfort and was very practical. This pushchair even made moving my child from a seated position to lying very simple, simply lift a handle and lower it down and it was securely clipped into place. I have already recommended this pushchair to other parents and will continue to do so.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only problem I had with the Mytrex was the rain cover – it did not fit onto the pushchair with any sort of ease at all, nor was it labelled top or bottom. Also, when putting the train cover away, it did not fold into any sort of practical shape, nor did it fit well into the basket.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the pushchair to my friend and family as it's a life saver for us! It enables us to go about our day to day jobs easily, folds small enough to live in the car boot. The quality is fantastic, and wipes clean easily which is a definite plus. The hood is amazing and lets my little boy can have a nap without the sun in his eyes, it's already well covering but with the extension it is perfect.

This makes my life as a mum so much easier, especially as we have a dog that needs walking. The ease of pushing this stroller on the fields is a winner for me, as the large wheels mean that I can walk across the green with my little one fast asleep. The added extras such as the cosy harness on the pushchair also help, as it makes the pushchair somewhere I feel happy for my little boy to snooze. It is also so easy to wipe clean.

Out of others on the market, I find the Mytax ticks the majority of boxes we are looking for in a pushchair. It would probably be a bit more expensive than the normal pushchairs I would buy, but it is amazing and has really held its quality.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I were to change anything it would be the price, as we would probably only look to spend around £200 on a pushchair. Having said that, this pushchair is definitely worth paying extra for – it is amazing quality and has made me realise I would rather pay more for the perfect item in the future.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend. The Mytrex pushchair was very easy and straightforward to assemble. The pushchair seems to be very light and easy to manoeuvre, even when walking round a busy shopping centre. I love the fact that you can move the base part into a seated or lying position with one handle. I also really like that you can fold the pram with one hand just by pulling the lever in the middle. I used the pushchair with my small six-month-old and at first, I was a bit dubious about how much it would support him. After adjusting the straps and checking he was fine in it every two minutes, I was happy to see how comfortable he seemed – he even fell asleep in the pushchair on our walk, which is quite rare for him.

How has this product made your life easier?

The product only took one person to assemble and it was built in a matter of minutes. It is very easy and quick to put up and down with one hand, which makes for an easy life, especially with a fussy six-month-old in your arms. Also, at times when I had to carry my son, I was able to push the pushchair with no difficulty and steer well. The small basket under the pushchair is handy for a small changing bag or a few essential items.

I currently have an older son who is nine-years-old, so the other pushchairs I have used in the past are horribly outdated now, making me a bit of a novice when it comes to pushchairs on the market today. I really enjoyed using the Mytrex pushchair, just because it is lightweight and very easy to push around. My older son even gave it a go and found it simple to dodge other people in a busy shopping centre!

What changes would you make to this product?

The one thing I would recommend changing is the rain cover, as it seems quite fiddly when trying to put it on and off the pram. No matter how many times I tried, I just couldn’t get it on quickly. Also, there seems to be a very specific way of folding the cover, and it doesn't actually fit under the pram properly.

Tested by mum Sammie Wright for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to fellow mums or mums to be, as it is a lovely product that is super affordable. It's easy to put together – the instructions were straightforward the images and description were helpful. To top it all off, if you’re out on your own, the pram is easy to fold and unfold with one hand. I will be telling all of my friends about the Joie Mytrax!

How has this product made your life easier?

I found the Mytrax made my life much easier because it was so quick to fold up and down in a rush. Also, when my little one fell asleep in the pram it was so easy to lay him back without disturbing him. The only thing I was annoyed about was the fact I didn’t know about this pushchair before buying mine, as it is much better in every way!

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product to win a Mother & Baby award as it is a lovely looking pram, it’s easy to fold up and down, I was able to lie my son back when he was sleeping and overall, the Mytrax made my life a lot easier. Thank you Joie!

What changes would you make to this product?

I don't think there is anything I would change about this product – it’s easy to put together, to fold up and down, it looks expensive whilst being hugely affordable and it comes with a brilliant canopy and cup holder.
