How did this product make your life easier?
Billie: This product made life easier because it gives peace of mind, and an extra sense of security. As a mum, I worry about little things that could happen and anything that makes my house and toddler safer is a definite win for me. My toddler is a bit mischievous and has recently started to climb so this product couldn't have come at a better time!
Margaret: The Jackloc window restrictor makes my life easier as a mum because it means the window in my child's bedroom cannot be opened fully. At the moment there is no way for my little girl to climb up to the window in her room.
Amy: I found this product really really good very solid and easy to attach even to plastic uPVC windows. Once attached, it is really easy to use and doesn't look out of place and awful as some others look really cheap and nasty. This is good quality and also very quick for me to undo if I need to open the window.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Julie: We definitely recommend the Jackloc window restrictor locks for security. Being able to keep windows open in this hot weather whilst out during the day or overnight has made such a big difference with keeping it cool for bedtimes. The locks are secure and would be hard to break into. They were easy to install and blend in with our white window frames. Having a key lock means little ones can’t unlock them from the inside either to escape.
Libby: I believe I would recommend this to other mums. It's mainly due to the fact that the Jackloc brand is well known to be rigorously tested, and you can tell by the quality of the product that it is well made. Compared to other window locks or restrictors on the market, the Jackloc has the advantage that it can be completely undone when not in use. Having a lockable device means that you are not at risk of curious toddler hands undoing the device by accident!
Pamela: I would recommend this product as it is so simple to install - there is no wasting time messing about working out how to install it. It fits great and all types of windows so it’s easy to do. The design is fantastic, so simple yet so effective. It looks like it will be long-lasting so once you have bought it, you won’t be replacing it any time soon.
Would you choose this product to win?
Julie: Yes, we have since been and bought a few more of these locks for other windows. I feel comfortable using them. The only downside is they have to screw on to the window frame so if you removed them then you would have screw holes in the frame. Not sure why you would need to remove them though, they are simple and easy to use. The instructions they came with could have a couple more pictures for installation. I ended up googling it just for positioning of the locks. Some of our windows have locks that are inside the frame but these are fiddly to use and don’t really allow the window to open far enough for a breeze to come through.
Amy: I would and have chosen this product over others due to the fact that it is sturdy and doesn't feel like it would break as soon as my little one tried to pull on it. It has been tested by my little one and it didn't move at all. I think that they are also reasonably priced and easy to attach to the window.
Margaret: I do not know a lot about window restrictors and what other types are on the market. From what I have seen on the internet, the Jackloc window restrictor is quite pricey compared to the others. However, this product is very sturdy and made of quality materials. From testing this product there is no way my little girl could open her window fully. You cannot put a price on your child's safety. This product is definitely worth the money.
What changes would you make to this product?
Billie: If I could change one thing it would be the screws that come with the product as standard, the head of the screw isn't the easiest to actually screw into place and didn't feel too secure. I ended up using my own screws as I found these ones very awkward. I haven't tested any other similar products but this seems to be top end on the pricing scale so maybe something they could look at.
Libby: One thing I would consider changing about this product would be the installation design. Whilst it was easy to install, the lock requires special security screws that cannot be undone - therefore potentially detrimental if wanting to move it do a different room or in a rented house given the possible underlying effects to the window frame. Whilst these special screws add to the Jackloc's security features if being used for a toddler bedroom to prevent falls it may not be entirely necessary as a young child is unlikely to be able to remove any small tightly inserted screw.
Pamela: I wouldn’t change anything about the product. I think that everything has been thought of in terms of safety which is key. The usability is fantastic and the ease of setting up the product is key as you are selling to people with not much spare time on their hands. I really like this product and will be purchasing more.
