We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Susan: Knowing that the mattress is hand made from four natural breathable materials with no harmful chemicals or toxins gives me peace of mind. The materials are also temperature regulating which ensures the baby does not get too hot. The mattress feels firm and comfortable, my little one slept very well! As the children's mattress is dual sided no need to purchase another mattress.

Lucy: This mattress is reassuringly non toxic with all natural materials something which is very valuable for a product that my baby spends a good deal of his time using! I feel happy knowing that he has all naturally hypo allogenic materials used in his bed. The product grows with him - this is a brilliant feature and increases the longevity of the mattress. This means I will be happy that he is comfortable using his cotbed as he grows but also that the baby side of the mattress is appropriate for safe sleeping.

Elizabeth: I loved the ethos behind this brand and the use of natural products within the mattress. I was reassured by the literature inside the product which described it being free from chemicals and also hypoallergenic. I value these features when purchasing products for my child. I was also impressed that the mattress was dual sided with directions of which side to use based on age. This is important to me as in the past I have been uncertain which type of mattress to use in terms of spinal support and found this feature reassuring.

Would you recommend this product to other parents?

Poppy: Although it is slightly more pricey then some mattress’, upon reading some facts about The Green Sheep Group I saw that the products are fire proof, breathable and hypo-allergenic which makes the mattress worth every single penny. I am a natural worrier and constantly panic about whether my son is too hot or too cold etc but that has definitely Calmed down a lot since receiving the mattress and if I had known about this brand before I would definitely have considered buying one myself.

Jamie: I love the natural materials inside this mattress and knowing that my toddler isn’t sleeping on a chemical filled mattress. The design of the mattress is very clever one side provides firm support and the other cushiony side which is a great multipurpose feature. I like that it's hypoallergenic and material is breathable as well as being able to help regulate baby's temperature. I like the quality of the mattress cover, once I got it out of the box I could tell it was made to a high standard. The mattress itself was weighty but not too heavy to pick up and move around. I also liked that the plastic cover provided a 'try before you commit' - it allowed me to double check that the mattress would fit my cot bed frame correctly and if not I would be able to return the mattress provided I did not remove the cover.

Lizzy: Yes I would recommend this product. Anything that helps a baby to sleep is a winner in my eyes! The quality is incredible and he is sleeping so well that that does all the talking for me! Any mum with a baby who isn't sleeping well and thinks they have tried everything should try this mattress. I can't believe my luck!

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Georgina: The two major selling point for this mattress are it’s organic components reducing exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins and its twists feature allowing a safe and comfortable sleep. The mattress has been designed to be breathable and hypoallergenic which are reassuring features when picking a mattress.

Ellis: I would 100% purchase this product again and again (okay maybe once more for one more baby) I truly believe that this product deserves to win any award above any other retailer. I just love the reversible option, allowing the mattress to grow with your child. The comfort hasn’t been compromised at all, both sides of the mattress are super comfortable, offering different firmness. the quality is just second to none.

Caroline: I would choose this product based on the quality of the materials and craftsmanship and design in the mattress and it’s composition. Sleep hygiene and safety is a paramount for babies and young children and this mattress is designed to deal with those concerns as well as being comfortable. I am not aware of any other mattresses at this price point which have these features.

What changes would you make to this product?

Lucy: Being made of natural materials the product information states that it is therefore very important to avoid spills or accidents getting through to the mattress and that a waterproof mattress protector should therefore be used. I feel that in a product where this is necessary to protect the longevity of the product this is something that should be included or at a reduced price as a bundle when purchasing a product at the higher end of the price range.

Susan: The slightly disappointing thing about the mattress is that it is not waterproof as it is quite an expensive purchase. In order to circumvent this issue there is a waterproof cover is recommended, there is a cover available for a cost of around £30 which means spending additional money. The cover is flat so does cover the entire mattress unlike some competitors and able to use on bigger mattresses so has some longevity also.

Sarah: I don't think there is anything about the structure of this product that I would change. Only thing maybe a different pattern or colour of the mattress to have a choice but this isn't essential.
