DK’s Little Hide and Seek Playtime book is bright and interesting. The thick, cardboard pages are durable enough to withstand a heavy-handed toddler yet the book is not so heavy that it can’t be carted around by little story lovers. It also fits nicely into a changing bag for a handy distraction when out and about!

The story is basic but written in rhyme and each page features a number of fun items to be found; some of them quite tricky, which is a fun challenge. And once you've spotted all of the suggestions, you can make up plenty more. The pages might be a little too busy for some tots but the book is a great way to assist object recognition and memory.

The pop up page at the back is an extra little surprise, which keeps the children busy after the story has finished but it is easily torn.

Overall, the book is engaging, eye-catching and entertaining – a wonderful gift (to give or get)!
