Axkid ONE+ at a glance

Axkid ONE+ sets a new standard of car-seat safety. It is the only rear-facing ISOFIX seat that is i-Size approved up to 125 cm/23 kg. It is also the only car seat on the market with these maximum limits to pass the Plus-Test and its high demands on crash safety. Axkid One+ can be used from day one all the way up to 7 years of age due to its unique extra new born cushions. The whole seat weighs less than 10 kg allowing older and heavier children to travel rearward all the way up to 7 years of age.

We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review..

How did this product make your life easier?

Kayleigh: This product makes life easier as a mum as it is isofix so I know that the car seat is installed safely. The fact the seat can be moved forward and backward on a runner at the pull of a lever makes getting baby in and out very easy due to the increased leg room. There is even a little beeping noise that goes off when the leg of the isofix base is not securely flat on the floor.

Victoria: As a mother this product provides me with the utmost reassurance that my baby is the safest she can be when we travel. The integrated isofix base means there are less components to transfer between vehicles when required. The buttons for the seat and height adjustability are clearly labeled and easy to use.

Laura: This product makes my life easier as a mum as it takes the stress and worry about car seat safety. As a new mum, car seat safety is of the utmost importance so it was really comforting to know safety was at the forefront of this brand. The people that worked for the company were also super helpful and that definitely made my life easier too.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Laura: I would recommend this product to a fellow mum as it’s suitable from birth until 12 years old as a rear facing car seat. If someone had told me about this while pregnant I would have definitely purchased this product, as the safety aspect is obviously paramount for this brand.

Victoria: I would recommend this product because I believe it is one of the safest seats I have come across. Once I understood how to correctly fix it into my vehicle (thanks to YouTube and assistance from the sales rep) installation time was minimal which saved time when moving it between vehicles. I also think my baby looked really comfortable and snug within the seat as well as safe.

Sarah: I would recommend this car seat to a new mum because it is a very safe and easy way for their child to travel in a car from birth to 7 years old. I have had quite a few car seats for my children and this one is the easiest and most simple car seat I have ever installed, it offers lots of leg room and it looks fantastic. I would recommend it because everything can be installed with one hand and it clicks when you have installed it into the correct position which saves you having to jump over it to check everything is in the right place. It is easy to remove the covers to wash them which is a great feature as the covers on some car seats are difficult to remove.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Sarah: I would choose this product above all others on the market because it is the safest rear facing car seat on the market which has won awards, has passed the Swedish Plus Test, looks fantastic, had lots of leg room and even though it is rear facing it’s super easy to install by myself with no help. This is very important to me as I often have to move my car seats into my mother in law's car by myself and the Axkid One+ is so light and easy to install that I can do it by myself. I do think it deserves to win as it is a great investment from birth until approximately seven years old, it is very safe and offers the best protection for my precious children in the event of a car accident.

Laura: There are so many variations and different types of car seat on the market right now that it makes it very confusing as a first time parent. Some car seats are only suitable until a certain age/weight and you therefore have to think about purchasing another car seat later down the line. Others can be used in pushchairs which is really appealing whereas others can only be fixed in the car. I think the fact that this product can be used until 12 years old and is rear facing is a real plus. All parents are told that rear facing is safest for your child therefore it’s a real selling point for this product and it’s this reason that I would choose above others on the market.

Kayleigh: I would definitely recommend this product as it lasts for so long, I have even had my 7 year old in this seat as she is under the weight restrictions and it’s just the perfect all round seat, especially for safety. The seat itself is not heavy and is easy to install with just a few clicks. I love this seat and would highly recommend it.

What changes would you make to this product?

Kayleigh: The only thing I would change about this car seat is the placement of the buckle release to lengthen the belt as I use it often when getting the baby out of the car and find it at a bit of an awkward angle to reach when my baby is in the seat kicking about. Other than that it’s an absolutely brilliant product.

Laura: I’m aware that safety is the key feature on this product but I’m not sure if there are any other design options to choose from as the design looks quite standard. The price point on the product is one of the most expensive I’ve seen so it might be nice to see other designs available. Other than this I wouldn’t make any changes to the actual product.

Sarah: The only one thing I would change about this car seat, is where the button is located which makes the harness longer. Sometimes it is difficult to find when you are in a rush, or when your child's legs get in the way. This would not put me off from buying this car seat though.
