Summer has arrived and it’s a great time to get outside and make lifelong memories with our little ones. Whether that’s adventures close to home or overseas, these special family moments will be remembered forever.

With a stress-free summer of family fun in mind, Graco spoke to over 18,000 parents to find out how they feel about travelling with children and their top tactics.

First holidays

The majority of respondents had waited until their child was aged three months plus before they headed away from home overnight and three-quarters of Graco parents opted to take their own equipment away with them. 55% told Graco they took their own equipment for a ‘home away from home’ experience for their little one.

Holiday rules

Most, 79%, of parents did not prepare their baby for holiday changes while away from home, with nearly two thirds opting for ‘holiday rules’ and not trying to keep little one in a routine.

Keeping baby safe

Understandably, keeping baby safe once they’re moving is a top priority for parents. 77% of respondents were surprised at the danger their little one could quickly get into once mobile. One top tip parents shared was using a playpen to keep baby safe for short periods of time at home or away. Over 60% of respondents opted to use a playpen, especially when taking bathroom breaks!

Getting prepared

To keep the smiles on everyone’s faces, preparation is key for a stress-free summer, whether home or away. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you need to pack everything but the kitchen sink! A few carefully selected items that are simple to use, help keep baby happy and give you peace of mind will make all the difference. Here’s our top three:

Travel cot – wherever you find yourself this summer, making sure your little one is safe and settled at night and during nap times is a top priority for parents everywhere. Take a cot that is lightweight and folds small and simply for ease of packing. The Graco FoldLite is perfect for this as it folds and unfolds in seconds.
