At a glance:

Philips Avent microwave steam steriliser bags are ideal for sterilising your baby's feeding equipment, breast pumps and breast shields. They are convenient to use both at home and when out and about. Coming in a pack of five bags, each bag can be used 20 times. They have a handy checkbox area for you to keep track of usage. The bags also feature a sneak peek window to allow you to quickly check on the contents, while a Safe Zone on each bag allows you to remove the bags from the microwave safely.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Harriet: I would recommend these a fellow friend or mum. It could be a perfect and quick solution for sterilizing. They come in a nice small package which allows easy transportation as it fits nicely in my changing bag. I felt that the product was very hygienic and I was pleased with the results.

Megan: This sterilising bag prevents burns which are easy to do with other sterilising equipment. This device cools much quicker than others which means when I am waiting for a dummy to be sterilised there is less time for my two-month-old to cry. The “safe zone” on the product is great, so I know exactly where to hold it. The bag doesn’t drip with hot water after use which is great because I have kids running around who could be burnt easily. The product makes life easier as a mum because it is safe and quick.

Georgie: I'd recommend this product to fellow mums if they are travelling. Sterilisers are big and bulky and can take up a lot of car/luggage space so these are ideal to throw in the case as they take up no space at all! Another perk is that there are 100 uses in total so you won't be caught short with no way of sterilising bottles and dummies. I'd recommend due to the short time it takes to sterilise. When you're not prepared and in a rush with a hungry baby, you can sterilise and feed very quickly.

How did this product make your life easier?

Natalie: This product is fabulous. I didn't even know it existed. They are amazingly fit for purpose. They are reasonably priced and a truly brilliant idea. They made my life so much easier. I didn't have to think about taking the big sterilizer on holiday or to my Mum's when she looked after my little boy.

Nicole:  This product makes my life as a mum of five young children easier as when travelling, you can imagine the amount of stuff you need to bring along. These are easy to use and small enough to pop in the nappy bag. They are also reusable which is great. You can quickly sterilize bottles on-the-go without the huge sterilizer.

Katrina: This product is great for when I need to sterilise my baby’s bottles when I’m in a hurry. It only takes three minutes in the microwave, a couple of minutes to cool down and then they are all ready to use. If I used my other steam steriliser these would take longer which means my baby will be getting angry as he’s hungry! It is also very easy to do as I just add 60ml of water so no messing around when I'm in a hurry.

Would you choose this product to win?

Stevie-Jade: I would choose this product above all other sterilising equipment on the market due to the ease and size. I had never really looked at these bags previously and has always used other bulky products. The bags are a reasonable size. I have found these very helpful in many situations. The design was very useful and all the instructions on how to use are on the bag. They are reusable up to 20 times and there's a tally on the back so that you can keep track.

Harriet: Personally, I wouldn't choose to use sterilizing bags. I would much prefer to use a Microwave sterilizer. A microwave sterilizer is cheaper, easier and less fussy to use. I would however use the bags if I was travelling or staying somewhere different to home rather than carrying the microwave sterilizer around.

Megan: I think it is really hard to say if this product should win against all the others on the market. The size is the number one factor as to why it is better than the alternative methods. Additionally, because it is not a huge bag, I don’t feel like I have to wait to completely fill it before I should sterilise. I feel comfortable running the microwave just for a few dummies or a single bottle with the accessories. This method of sterilising takes way less time than the other methods. Size, ease of use and speed make this a winner.

What changes would you make to this product?

Georgie: If I could change anything about this product it would be the price. It is a lot to spend and they are defiantly far too expensive for somebody to use as the only way of sterilising. Another thing that lets the product down is the number of bottles it sterilises. I would have to use three separate bags to get all my bottles done. These steriliser bags probably aren't that ideal unless you only need to sterilise one or two bottles.

Natalie: I would make the seal a little more durable. It wasn't very strong and came undone a couple of times. I wouldn't change anything else. The design is fabulous and the size is perfect. There aren't any other things I would change. It is a great all round product. It is a brilliant idea for holidays, weekends away and when family are babysitting.

Nicole: If I could change just one thing about this product I would make the bag slightly bigger to fit a few more bottles in at once. You would have to ensure it was still small enough that its compact and easy to travel with. Other than that, this product does not need changing. It is a great product and every family who travels needs this in their life.
