Munchkin Colour Me Hungry

Munchkin Colour Me Hungry is a cute, toddler-friendly dining set for little hands and mouths. It will get your little one used to self-feeding with it's easy to hold handles.

How did this product make your life easier?

Lauren: I love the Munchkin Colour Me Hungry set, when I first saw it I thought the box was very colourful and fun for a child to colour in. When opening the box to view the product, you can see these are good quality items. He is currently in the process of trying to feed himself so if he throws something, I know it won’t break easily.

Lucy: This feeding set is brilliant. It has everything my little boy needs and more! The bowls are great and it’s useful to have different options, so depending on what he is eating he can use the divided plate or the regular one. The bowl is also great for snacks. The cup with lid is also great for helping to prevent spills.

Lucy: It has compartments on one of the plates which means it’s easier to separate out different foods if needed. The cup provided with the set is very easy to use and has meant getting my son to drink his milk in the evening and morning has been much easier. The bottoms of the plates and bowls have a material on which makes them stick to the table a little (or gives them some traction on the table). This was useful for my younger son who likes to push things around and knock plates off the table - so has saved me time clearing those messes up!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Melanie: The Munchkin Colour Me Hungry set is definitely value for money, having purchased numerous other products that haven’t lasted or washed as nice as these, I can definitely recommend. Each of the items is great in design and practicality, from the cutlery to the cup. The cutlery is a perfect size and has helped my daughter to use cutlery during all mealtimes.

Samira: Since using the Munchkin Colour Me Hungry set, I have seen a huge improvement in my son's self-feeding habits which has been wonderful to see and therefore this has become our go-to set. The bowl is deep enough that he can try scooping food onto his spoon without it falling out. All pieces are thick with some sturdiness, so I don't have to worry about any accidental spills or dropping of plates. My son hasn't yet grasped using the cup, but this is all part of the development process and I confident that using the lid will help him become more competent in using a cup.

Alison: You could wean using this set alone (although you would have a lot of washing up between meals). Very good quality as it does not bend or become misshaped. It's easy to use for both my children (18 months and 4 years olds). The box was very entertaining for my 4 years old but totally bypassed my 18-month-old who the product targets.

Would you choose this product to win?

Lauren: I love this product, when I first saw it I thought the box was very colourful and fun for a child to colour in. When opening the box to view the product you can see this is good quality items. Munchkin is a very good make for kids and my child loves to use the items. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and even buy it as a gift for a child how is weaning. The cutlery and very sturdy and the cup are easy for the child to use. My only suggestion would be to maybe have a handle on it, to make it easier for the child to use.

Lucy: Yes I would choose the Munchkin Colour Me Hungry set above all others. This is by far the best weaning/eating set I have got since I had my children. I think the vibrant colour really makes it stand out. The cup part is my 2-year-old sons favourite and is very easy for him to use for his milk so he feels like he is using a ‘big boy cup’ but actually it pretty effectively (in a 2-year-old) stops it from spilling out.

Parveen: Yes, I would definitely choose this product and want it to win as it is a high quality one-stop solution for the weaning needs of my child. All items included in one box which is lightweight and sturdy. It is of good quality so it should last for a long time. It is easy to clean either by hand or on the dishwasher.

What changes would you make to this product?

Melanie: I wouldn’t really change anything about this item, I like the variety of products, I think it’s value for money and great quality. Perhaps offer a personalisation option? Maybe on the cutlery or the bowls to add that extra specialness kids love? Other than that I would recommend this to all my mammy friends.

Jodie: The one thing that I would look to change would be the training cup. Whist it does match in with the rest of the set and it is aesthetically pleasing, the cup has a couple of features that make using it a little awkward. Firstly, the lid has a spout on it for where the fluid is released, however with the lid being transparent, its really quite difficult to understand quickly where this open spout is.

Alison: I would increase the side of the scooping part of the spoon. My 18-month-old has found it much easier to keep the food on the spoon between plate/bowl and mouth with a larger spoon surface area. This size is more for parental feeding a small baby rather than a weaning self-feeding baby. If the product could be reduced in price this would be more attractive.
