How did this product make your life easier?
Annique: This makes my life easier as a Mum, as my little one took to using the Spoon pretty much instantly. Within less than a day, he took to using the Spoon feeding himself his breakfast, a yoghurt and his dinner. I was honestly shocked. I didn’t think he would take to feeding himself with cutlery so quickly. It now frees me up to feed my other little one, knowing that I have piece of my mind that my eldest is now comfortable able to feed himself without getting the food everywhere.
Dvora: My girls seemed to use this cutlery set more effectively than other children’s cutlery sets we have purchased, which have longer handles. The spoon is deeper than a lot of children’s spoons and thus holds food on more effectively, particularly for tricky foods such as peas which have a tendency to easily roll away. This means meal times become less messy – happy babies as they are eating more and dropping less. Happy mummy because there is less mess to clean up – yay! The cutlery is small and easy to transport to restaurants etc. Dishwasher safe which is both convenient and hygienic and the colour hasn’t faded with consistent dishwasher use. Neither has the cute little logo on the stainless steel of each piece. Overall I’m very impressed and feel it has made mealtimes easier for me.
Ruth: The Nana’s Manners stage 2 fork and spoon set makes my life easier as a mum as my little one can use their cutlery unaided. The fact they are able to eat unaided means they can feed themselves. This is brilliant as it means that I can eat hot food again. Unlike other cutlery sets, I have found that my little one has found using these much easier and there has been much less food on the floor - less cleaning!
Would you recommend this to other parents?
Annique: I would recommend this product to a friend/fellow Mum as I feel it is very well designed for their little hands. It looks chunky but it doesn’t look that way when they start to use it. By the looks of things, it provides a nice level of comfort in their palm, by not having anything dig into or irritate their hand. There is a groove in the cutlery and it’s nicely placed to help them learn how to hold an item of cutlery.
Dvora: They were easy to get out of the box, are colourful and I like that the stainless steel has the logo on – nice touch. They look colourful and funky and more importantly, their design is user friendly. I have twin girls who found the larger handles easier to grip, and the shorter length of the cutlery easier to guide into their mouths. Overall, they seemed to manage their meals easier with less food dropped off the cutlery. The fork has rounded tips to make sure it’s safe for children and the spoon is a decent size to be able to hold ‘proper’ food (as opposed to purees). I’ve found with other children’s cutlery that the spoons can be too shallow to hold adequate food and items such as peas just roll straight off. My girls really thrived using this set. The cutlery is dishwasher safe which just helps with the clearing up and ease of use, The materials feel good quality and the colour hasn’t faded with regular dishwasher use.
Ruth: I would recommend the Nana’s Manners fork and spoon set to a fellow mum for a few different reasons. Firstly whilst initially they look like a very strange design, they are incredibly ergonomic and easy for little ones to grip. Secondly, they are dishwasher safe which is a key feature for any product in a busy mums life and thirdly they are a bright colour so easy to spot and keep little ones happy.
Would you choose this product above all others on the market?
Annique: I do not think this product is aesthetically pleasing, which I think could be a reason why I myself, wouldn’t initially go to buy this product because it looks so different from all of the other sets of cutlery. However, looking beyond this, I do feel that the item should win. I was incredibly impressed at how my son just took to using it. In saying that though, he has opted for a bigger spoon of a different brand to eat his breakfast but however, uses this branded spoon to eat his yoghurt. So, I feel it is easier for them to eat some foods with, just not all and that should maybe be looked at to provide a better variety of use.
Dvora: I’ve been really impressed with the quality of this item – it feels high quality, washes well without any fading of colour or logos and it's well designed. I would definitely recommend this set to other mums and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase them again in the future. They were easy to get out of the box, are colourful and I like that the stainless steel has the logo on – nice touch. The cutlery is dishwasher safe which just helps with the clearing up and ease of use, I hate products that are designed for children’s use but can’t then be thrown in the dishwasher with everything else. This obviously makes it sterile and more hygienic as well.
Ruth: I would choose Nana’s Manners spoon and fork set above all others on the market as they are fantastically designed for little ones both in terms of their ergonomic design and bright colour. Furthermore, parents have been thought of and they are BPA free, stainless steel and drastically reduce the amount of food on the floor
What changes would you make to this product?
Annique: If I could change one thing about this product, I would probably say that the length of the handles on the cutlery need to be a lot longer for this age range. Just because, as mentioned above, my son prefers this cutlery for his yoghurt but a bigger spoon at breakfast to eat his bowl of muesli/porridge. It could all just be personal preference and I believe that all children are different. Otherwise, it’s a good bit of cutlery.
Dvora: I found this product to be very good quality, well designed and well thought out. I can’t think of any improvements that could be made. The price tag does initially seem quite steep, but having tried and tested it, I do think the price reflects the quality of the goods. The design is funky and user friendly and the logo on the stainless steel of each piece is a nice touch. The spoon is a nice depth, the fork has rounded prongs making them safe for use, but still pick up food with ease. They are available in a range of colours and are dishwasher safe. What more could you ask for?!
Ruth: If I could change one thing about the Nana’s manners fork and spoon set I would struggle to choose between two small things. Firstly the handle design; personally I would love it for the handles to come in patterned design. The second thing would be the plastic handle. I would love it if they could use recycled plastic or no plastic
