The Oscar-winning actress has spoken out about people judging mums and their work/life balance
Iron Man star and mum of two Gwyneth Paltrow has hit back at working mum critics in a new interview.
‘It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. It makes me cross. I personally think that the work-life balance for a woman should be exactly what she feels is right for her,’ the 41-year-old says in the December issue of Red magazine – guest edited by Gwyneth and her team at goop.com – out 6 November.
'When I’m with my kids, I give them everything I have. And when I’m not, I give whatever I’m doing everything I have'
‘And nobody else can set her time schedule. And nobody else can tell her how many hours a week she needs to devote to this, that or the other. **** what anybody else says, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
'That’s what we’ve got to let go of. That idea of, “Oh god, if I don’t show up to this concert, all the other mums are going to think I’m terrible”. Well, so ******* what. When I’m with my kids, I give them everything I have. And when I’m not, I give whatever I’m doing everything I have.’
The actress is mum to Apple, nine, and Moses, seven, with her husband and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The couple are currently raising their brood in Los Angeles after moving there from the UK last year.
