Little Tikes top tips on slide safety

We spoke to toy experts over at Little Tikes to get their expert opionion on slide safety.

  1. It is super important for your slide to be on a stable surface, always place the slide on level ground at least 2m away from any other object, our Easy Store Giant Slide comes with an extra wide base for added stability!
  2. Although you will always be surpervising your child playing, we always recommend talkingyour child through the slide to ensure they know how to be safe too.
  3. Always complete a thorough check of your slide before getting it out for the summer months, especially if it’s been folded away, check twice monthly during usage periods.

Without further ado, here are all of our favourite toddler slides that we think your whole family will love.

The best toddler slides

Best budget option

Are you looking for a slide that is easy to assemble? Well, this one will tick all the boxes for your baby. Its adorable red and green design is just the start as the frame is strong, waterproof and UV protected. At under £30, it's affordable and most importantly, fun.

Review: "Bought for nephew's first birthday, brilliant size, although nephew needs to learn to climb it properly - I think will last him up until he is around two as it's a brilliant sturdy slide, but not the tallest. So highly recommended for baby's first slide, but not recommended for over three. I would definitely choose a different slide for an older child, but brilliant for a first birthday present."

Best overall slide

If you're looking for a slide that will leave your toddler giggling and shouting "again, again", this is the one. We love that this apparatus has been designed so that your little one doesn't lose their grip or slip. A stand out feature for us is the hose attachment, which means that you can turn this into a water slide when it is hot.

Review: "Fantastic size for my little two-year-old, easy to climb and very sturdy. When we first got it out of the box, I thought it was going to be small, but once it is all put together it is the perfect size for him."

Best for design

Children will slide right into playtime with Little Tikes First Slide. Not only is it suitable for use in the garden, but you can also bring it in the playroom during winter. We think that this fun addition to your home is perfect for ages 18 months and over.

Review: "Good size, bought for my daughter's first birthday, she loves it, only took a few weeks for her to master climbing up the steps, she preferred to climb the slide. It is really sturdy, and I'm very happy with the good price, too."

Best for the cute factor

We're obsessed with this Elephant slide! How sweet will your toddler look gliding down this? We think this would look charming in the garden, in your living room or your kids' play area - can you tell that we love it?

Review: "Was so pleased with this product I got for my nephew's first birthday. Good quality and he’s had hours of fun on it."

Best activity gym with slide

Playtime will never be the same again with this activity gym and slide combo. Let your kids' imaginations run wild as they crawl through the frame and zoom down the slide. We love that you can play fun games like peek-a-boo and hide and seek with the help of this setup.

Review: "My grandson's favourite toy! Not just a slide and climbing frame, this is his very own castle, den, tunnel, house or whatever else he imagines it to be! His little friends rush straight out to play on it too when they visit. Easy to slot together straight out of the box with just four screws to insert the finished item is not heavy and has a modest footprint, so it can be used indoors or outside. Great value, a toy that will be used every day."

Best paddling pool with slide

OK, so this is slightly different from a regular slide... But, when we found this - we just couldn't resist. With the recent heatwave, we wish that this play centre was in our gardens. Complete with water slide, wading pool, main pool, water sprayer and ring toss game, your kids will have hours of fun.

Rating: 3.7 out of 5 stars

Review: "A very worthwhile investment for summer entertainment! Our 14 month old spent 20-40 minutes in it at a time - tossing things in and out of it, climbing from one compartment to another, just lounging in the water. I didn't inflate all the bits as he was too young to properly toss rings on the spikes and roll balls down the runs. You need an electric pump! The pool didn't get any punctures, despite being tipped over several times for cleaning. The fountain thing works very well, kind of wobbles about - but if the water comes straight from the cold tap it is very cold for a small toddler... I turned it off in the end. Overall, this feels like a pretty "luxury" kids' pool and should entertain kids from 1 to about 12-13 - it is big enough."

Best for the garden

Why settle for a slide when you could treat your children to a whole playground? This impressive set comes in at 45 x 128 x 108cm for its overall dimension, boasts both a swing and slide. Plus, the delightful animal design will be loved by everyone.

Review: "This product was a great purchase for my grandson. He plays with it every time he goes out into the garden. He's more excited by this than any other toy he plays with."
